This is my first grow here's what's up so far. I have 3 seeds that have sprouted in rockwool, and are starting to grow in Miracle Grow Moisture Control soil. I screwed one of my plants up the other night by dropping a magazine on it, so it's dead. I have a new seed starting in its place. My grow box has a fan and a carbon filter but the temps are still in the 80's.

I tried to get some perlite in there today because the moisture control is keeping way too much water in the pot. I probably ripped some roots up in the process, but this had to be done.

you shouldnt tie the plants up so early as the stemwill not strengthen as quick as it has been relying on the support of the pencil.

they shouldn't really need to be tied until later in life if you wanted to lst.

im growing a mix of ryders to.

Thanks for the information! I'm using a two bulb t5 that is said to put out 10,000 lumens (link). Two of the seeds are feminized, and the rest are hopefuls.

The plants are looking good but I think I'm overwatering a couple of them because they are drooping and my moisture meter says they are still wet down under. I don't recommend this miracle grow moisture control to any first timers; I've been in a major strugg because of it.

they really dont need watering that much at this age. once every 4 days to a week is prob better. iv not watered mine and its been 8 days so far, perhaps let them dry abit before the next watering. feel they weight of your plant and pot if its heavy dont water if its light give it some.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Fyfe, I will calm my watering patterns. But i think i may have ruined all my plants already. I had no perlite in the pots, so i took all my plants out and repotted them. I destroyed a lot of roots in the process, but they looked rotted anyways. I'm going to wait without watering for a while and see what happens.

give them a few days to settle, try not to move them or disturb them two much so they can recover from the shock of losing there roots so early.

they should come back fine mate. its not that easy to get rid of weeds is it? and marijuana technically is a weed

Haha, it's the best weed around! Thanks for your words of advice, Fyfe!

The small ones look great despite the abuse i've been subjecting them to. I poured some watered down root development product into the soil the other day in an attempt to thicken up my roots. My moisture meter is starting to look how it's supposed to. It used to just read 'very wet' all the time because my soil wasn't letting any water out. Now that the perlite is mixed in, it reads closer to dry wet. Alright, I'd better get back to homework, so I'll leave you with some new snapshots of bestguy and worstguy (though i hope neither are really guys).

I just came home and this little sprout i had going just shriveled up. I just watered it because I read somewhere that seedlings can dry quick. I hope it's not dead. This sort of shit pisses me off so much because I've spent like 120 bucks on lowlife seeds and I've fucked half of them up. I guess it's worth it to endure though, because each time I fuck up I learn what not to do again.

The lights are 2 inches from the plants. Here are a few pics. The picture of the shriveled plant is hard to see but it's got a green stem and a dark mixture of colors before the baby leaves. I suppose it looks way better than it did last night though. It looked like a deflated balloon!

when your seeds are sprouting and are still very teeny weeny but beautiful babies, you should have the light a bit higher up, this will also not make the soil dry out as quick and when you see your little darlings at a suitable size bout the time they get their first set of true leaves, move the light closer to a couple of inches as you have them now.

i thought rockwool cubes were could at retaining water?

all is looking well tho
