Water conditioners for root development in res... Halp!

New grower here, getting my DWC system set up.
I've been getting a bit confused and would love any assistance here!
I had originally planned to buy hydroguard or flying skulls z7 or DM gold zone as per my research... But have been unable to source any of these in my local city.
I have been able to find the great white mycorrhizae and something called FU-63 root repair which my local hydro shop owner suggested.
Can obviously get hydrogen peroxide too.
My question is will either/both of these work to protect my roots in my DWC res?
Would you guys recommend using either/both of these, or something else entirely?
If I am using either/both of these, would there be anything else I would need to add to my res?

Can’t comment on anything your using cause I havnt used it but this stuff works wonders for me, quite expensive tho.

Will that protect against root rot/bad bacteria as well, or just promote root growth?

It creates a film over your root system so I would say it will protect it to an extent. As long as you don’t let light into your reservoir and don’t let the water get too warm, you shouldn’t have a problem.
Can’t hurt trying what you were recommended, won’t know till you try it

HLCG, where are you located? I'm assuming it's somewhere other than the US.
It's either running a sterile environment or using beneficial microbes to outcompete pathogens.
Hydroguard, Garden Friendly Fungicide, Tribus and the like, all introduce specific microbes to colonize the roots.

I don't know what's hype, what's worth using, what can be used with what else, and half the things are pretty vague with whats in them/what they actually do!

I have never used great white but heard decent things about it. You can also use seachem stability, its used in aquariums to seed denitrifying bacteria. Also an enzyme like hygrozyme works with either live or sterile. Just great white and hygrozyme should be good enough.

A lot products for hydroponics I think is mostly a result of marketing. Manufacturers want to reach as broad of a market as possible.

You only need a sterile and clean root surface to reach optimal nutrient uptake with mineral nutrients in readily available form for plants.

I use Pool Shock(Calcium hypochlorite) every third day at 0,5-2ppm depending on plant size. I also suggest people using high doses of Potassium Silicate product like Pro-tekt from Dyna Gro throughout the cycle. It work as a surfactant and pH stabilizer and helps by giving higher resistance to pm and insects and environmental stresses especially heat.

In overall Silicate from my experience gives you a more lively and resilient plant with more surface area for nutrient uptake on the roots.

+1 and you don't need to spend nearly as much time cleaning between runs. I don't miss days cleaning water lines and buckets covered with grime and organic matter. I do still use enzymes though which is the only organic product I still use in hydro.

First time using em and I can say I will continue to use.... Using hygrozyme currently.

Yes em is awesome for everything from helping digestion, composting to house cleaning and in hydroponics! I got a culture alive and well at my friends place. It's really simple to make and there's a lot of videos on YouTube on how to do it. It just take some time and patience. But a culture will be fine for over a year in cool conditions!

Normal tap water from the faucet is fine as it has all the bacteria killing chlorine that is beneficial to keeping roots healthy. Also water temperature is important to keeping away rot and of course adjusting the PH of the water is key.

most muni water suppliers have gone from chlorine to chloramine. cheaper and doesn't break down as fast.

Water temp does not keep root rot away and the amount of sodium in some water sources can be very high depending what they use for the majority of buffering like calcium carbonate. A safe bet is under 150ppm but even then it can rarely cause issues. It's best to look at the individual water reports to find out.

Chlorine and chloramine can both be neutralized with ascorbic acid (vitamin c) at 10mg per litre will likely be more than enough to do so. As the maximum is 4ppm in drinking water and usually it's around 1ppm.

Dutchmaster wont ship to CA and has no affiliates to buy from up here.
UC roots i have not looked for, ive spent most of my time trying to find pool shock or h2o2. Hydroguard is $139.99 per quart on amazon lol.

where i live pools are not common at all lol.....like anywhere. we have 1 pool in the city/town and its at the college. People dont have personal pools because our weather just dont cooperate enough for them to be used lol.
