Hi there, i am halfway through flower on my first grow at the moment and starting to get proactive for when the time comes in 5ish weeks give or take. Ive got a 1.5mx1.5mx2m tent(5x5 i think in feet) with 2 600w hps, temp/speed exhaust fan and a free standing osculating fan. I germed seeds last week for the idea of vegging and training them abit outside with the idea of geting 4 or 5 of the healthiest(of 8 seedlings) to try ultilize my area with a scrog style. Few questions, is 4 plants enough? How far is reccomended above pot or soil should screen be and when to install it? Im hoping to veg and train outside then depending on height in tent veg under 18/6 for a week or 2 then flip. Cheers guys few photos of this grow, few 12/12 from seed to fill in the area abit. I have read abit on scrog would just like to see someones personal input/regime etc

1.5 m x 1.5 m ... 4 is good. 6 would work as well. As one who also SCROG's, I have found that one plant can be spread over a 2' square footprint nicely. You could get 6 in the there but the spread of each plant would be a bit less.

Using a blurple, my yields/plant are in the 6 oz. range. HPS might double that. Not used them myself but several folks still prefer flowering with the HPS bulbs.

My netting is 21" above the floor. The Home Depot buckets I employ are 15" tall so the netting ends up being 6" above to top of the bucket. I don't measure the height of the net by the level of the soil. But I try to keep the soil 1" below the top of the buckets. That 6" separation is enough for me to give my ladies the love they need during flowering.

When to get 'em under the netting ... the sooner you can get the plants under the netting the easier it is to weave them. But you can still shove a fully grown plant under the net then super crop them to get them bent under the mesh. They look pretty sad when you first bend them but like always, they bounce back.

Example - most of these branches were already 16" above the net. With some shake and shimmy, the branches were still woven through and the net was lowered to 21". As you can see, that afternoon they looked like they were toast:

The plants will need some lollipopping once flower stretch has completed. The canopy fills out quickly and anything below that is going to be light starved and won't give you diddly. Do you have easy access to all four corners to prune those sucker branches?

Thanks starecase, you have commented on a couple of my threads so cheers for the help man. Awesome yeah out of 8 hoping to get 4 or 5 females but will see how they go, cool as thanks is there any reccomadations with when to switch 12/12? By the sounds ill setup net, veg for a week maybe? (Plants will be 5-6weeks old already, weave as i go from there to fill screen? Yes i can get to all four corners out the tent and will be able to deal to stuff not getting light etc. Is it me or does it seem net to be quite close to plant? Is it sorta judging where your middle branches will end up and go from there?

Let the net tell you. When it's almost full of laterally spread branches, you can switch. And my switch is a somewhat gradual switch over 4 days from 18/6. First two days - 13/11. The next two days - 12/12. On the fifth day, we go 11/13 for the entire rest of the ride. I read that a few RIU folk whole heartedly gave the thumbs up for 11/13. I tried it for this entire flower cycle and they are looking much hairier, beefier and frostier.

Great. Lollipopping really helps with overall plant health.

Nope ... it's 6" above the top of the bucket. From that angle and distance it does look closer. Line the center of the bucket with the center of the 2' x 2' SCROG area. In that 2 x 4 tent, I have 2 individual 2' x 2' nets cause having individuals makes adjusting and aligning so much easier. Center the plant then lower the net and move branches around to fill the inner 1/2. Keep doing that until you have lowered the net to the desired level. The individual nets have their own support chains which makes it easier to lower them incrementally until I get it to level. And by filling the inner 1/2, you can now weave those longer branches outwards and start that spread. Then grow stuff and fill in bare spots until the net is almost full ( ... you can bend some of the inner branches to help fill in any bare spots in the middle) then do your flip routine.
