HELP!!! - Clones not rooting...

if your stems are turning brown that means you have overwatered them causing stem rot. only water when they are dry to the touch.other than that just mist your dome to keep the humidity up. also if you scrape the stems alittle bit with a razor knife to remove the outer layer a bit then apply rooting hormone will help speed up the proccess.if i were you i would trash em and start over.are your plants starting to flower yet?if your not to far into flowering (like no signs of bud yet) then i would just take another round of clippings and start over.i find that cuttings actually root a little easier after you switch to flowering due to the low levels of nitrogen in your bloom ferts.just make sure there are no flowers yet or it will take even longer to root them

Dude what are you talking about ?? Your making something that's already hard that much harder.

ok.. so based on the responses its obvious that I have over watered cause the part of the cutting that is in the medium is turning brown... the rest of the clone looks very healthy and there is new growth... can I just cut these ones above the medium and start over?? I squeezed the rooter plugs and they were soaked... I really don't want to lose these and grow from seed all over again.

lmao... if cloning is the hardest thing for a newb.... count me a fuckin pro! 12 clones cut, 12 grew roots.... lol and im using 2 how the hell do u spell... tuppaware containers. its really bad if u saw it... but they all rooted and look healthy as fuck! only water the rockwool when it needs it... dont keep it drenched!

Yes I'd re cut if it were my plant. First dip the freshly cut stem in water and then use a rooting hormone. I'd also use a lighting system that is not going to be too harsh until your clone has developed new roots.
And for goodness sake do not use 24/0 light, I see that suggested quite a bit until roots are established. Think about what it is your doing each kingdom needs a resting period. Ever hear about photosynthesis?
Believe it or not...growing is more about common sense than any set rules. :)
What works for one may not for another. Each plant is different as to what it will tolerate or not given it's hardiness or tolerance level.
My .02.

With all due respect any plant or clone will take a 24/7 light of course you don't want to put a new clone under a 1000 hps but come on with the unsubstantiated remarks. I use 24/7 for my mothers and clones with no issues and there are a lot of other growers one that know with way more experience than I use 24/ 7 your information is completely personal and not based of fact and should be posted as such.

Look up the word photosynthesis. It explains everything and why I've come to the conclusion I have.
Technically I did not the know the exact term but someone provided that bit of info so I could back up what I was suggesting.

I may not have grown pot before but I've certainly grown everything just about under the sun other than that of a weed ;)

And of course a plant will take 24/7 or 24/0 I never said it would not. Plants are pretty hardy. However I am suggesting said individual will more than likely see better results given less harsh conditions.

Are you yourself not better conditioned to handle your environment with a resting period? If you would expect that of yourself why not that of a plant? Even mother nature provides such a time.

Conclusions resulting from input.

Besides I backed up my conclusions, all you had to do was look up a simple word .
At the end of my post I also noted that this was my .02. That in of itself suggests that this is my opinion.

Kinda obvious

where is your proof?

I guess if its in writing it must be true

OK i was fine up until that comment!!

How about you grow some weed and then come on the boards and start giving your 2 cents about PHOTOSYNTHESIS. You said and i quote "And for goodness sake do not use 24/0 light," That to me does not sound like and you might want to research your lighting times i think 24/0 might be too much.

My 2 cents :finger:. feel better?

That's nice :)
I did my first cloning from my first grow which is still going and they rooted within the same time give or take. However there was one plant that had very little rooting, i put that down to not getting a very good clipping and too small.
The rest did very well and at the end of the 2nd week the roots were about 2 inches long :).
The first 2 weeks they were so busy developing a root system I would assume and did not have any new leaf growth until the last several days.

Needed to edit the week thing.....
