Yes, I could do that, but the strips, spaced properly, give more even light distribution at the same wattage and at a lower price point. So dollar for dollar, I can get more light and better distribution.Run more QBs at lower power! Below 70 watts, you don't even need heatsinks! I'm eventually building a 9 board light for SCROG run at 50 watts per board.

I'm a big fan of the Quantum boards. I have two 260w kits in a 5x5 with a 400w magnetic induction PAR lamp. I plan on buying two more 260w kits and putting one at each corner of the tent and replacing the induction lamp with a QB18 Emerson effect 4' strip across the middle.
Before that I had two 260w kits in a 2x4 dimmed way down. Super efficient and amazing coverage plus the power to run CO2.
I noticed some other companies are coming out with LM301H V3 boards but HLG doesn't seem to have anything yet? Kind of lame. I might order one from Neimi instead.

They're prototype fissioning led boards with added 660nm. LM561C I think. They were wanting me to do a review for em, but they don't respond anymore. Glad I got them though. Might be some of the only ones to ever get in private hands.301H and 301B are the same. I would believe the H means "Horticulture". So many rip offs out there these days that you need to reference HLG quantum boards. Why not reference an "H" and call it a V3... One may think the vendor actually has better gear lmao... If something it better in the Samsung world for horticulture, HLG would be the first to know.
@Frank Nitty Thank you for the kind word above. I believe there are some much nicer rigs on here. Mine is just simple and efficient with the number of lights ( 13 in total ). I do like the fact if I have to remove the fixtures, its pretty manageable ( I can carry with one hand ). I have all lights set to 90 watts per light ( according to my crappy wall meter.. ) and I feel I could run this through at that. In a 4x8.
@Airwalker16 Are those HLG RSPECS? The red diodes seem to run the wrong way. Perhaps the pic is f-ing with my eyes lol..

@Airwalker16 to answer the question they are all HLG.. 4 QB 288 V1 3000k. 2 QB288 V1 2700k. 1 QB 288 V2 Rspec. 6 QB 96E. 4 QB 6 FR.

When you have a lot of time and imagination you can do miraculous things!!!The other lights a beast too though.
Much more of a project. Each heatsink has its own individual connector if it needs to be removed, it's got far red bars, each thing can be turned off independently from the middle 3 to the PCBs, outside 6 can be dimmed to 10%. Pretty cool. All the drivers are remote and screwed to a side panel from an old computer tower.

Starting to get things going again and im cutting my flower setup down a bit and looking for input on how to set up my boards for the new setup.

I have 16x 304 boards with the 660nm reds in them on heat sinks and 4x 320h-c2800b to drive them. Ran 4 sets of 4 in parallel before, wasnt enough for that space.
Made these tracks for them but I didnt really like how flimsy they ended up so I'm trying a different approach this time around.
Cutting the system down to 6 sites in the middle of a 10x10 tent but want to keep all the boards. So roughly a 9x6 area to light with 16 304 boards. Should sit just like the middle 2 rows in the picture.
I've been tossing around a few ideas, but still early in the process. Looking for what you guys would do with it to get some ideas flowing.

I'll be watching for sure!!!4 rows of 4. Nicer to have 5 rows of 4. I bet a row of Rspecs would be nice.. Look for some 1/8"thick 3/4"angled aluminum. It seems very rigid for 3 boards and perhaps 4 boards. I use that in pics last page. However you configure the lights you have some thinking to do. Good luck with that and make sure you post the results. Looks like a great space.
@Frank Nitty thanks for the kind words.. I recently cleaned up the cables etc so it looks a bit sharper. THe angled aluminum was hacked at a little to get that 3rd qb96e board in but turned out good. Those QB96e would mount better on 1/2" angled aluminum but I am not sure if 1/8 thick would be rigid enough. I will be looking into this soon and keep the thread posted. I am going to get rid of the tent and build a 5.5x9.5' mini room ( months away ). I want to cover a true 4x8 so those 2 qb96e fixtures will need to be slightly wider.

No better place to use tents than a nice unfinished basement.This is what I have going on with my drivers.
I got a 100' roll of 10/2 romex for like $10 off some guy local, so everything is and will be run with 10/2 romex. I have a fan that's mounted on the inside of the opposite rafter that blows over all of them. Each side has a digital dimmer with remote that controls 2 drivers each. Also have smoke detectors right by it.
Just got the controller box put in recently. It's going to be a huge help with breaker space.
