Plants grow the same way. All hydro and Coco is dumping synthetic nutes constantly into plants roots. Hydro and Coco growers don't do anything less neglect ful other than dump nutes in a bucket.

I’ve promised myself to do better next season. The past three years - no food. No water. No pruning. Although I pruned and weeded once mid summer 2019 and that helped a lot.
They’re in the earth and an hour’s drive, in a hoop house. Mama nature does what I cannot get to.

There’s soil. And there’s better soil.
Many people do it far better than I, which is an organic multi ingredient compost soil blend, amended a little with quality food, perlite, and then mostly leave it alone.
I use an ocean formula food made of lobster, crab, kelp, and much more. My cats try to break into the bag because it smells like food. I steep a tea to use in the aeroponic box where I’m growing a lemon cutting, and I swear it smells like seafood broth good enough to eat!
Hydro delivers maximum yield.
Soil delivers subtle and complex flavors that are analogous to those of fine wines. That and a long flowering plant. Mature is always more complex and interesting, be it weed, wine, or women!

Do what feels best re soil v other methods. I’m sticking with aeroponic for my mini lemon tree for now because she grows so quickly! But I’ll put her in dirt and let her grow a full year + to get the fruit taste I want. Meyer lemon. Mmm. Tastes like semi sweet grapefruit

Yes use super soil. Fox farms. You can add teas later on for extra nutes. Or top dress with concentrated mixes. Organic is the way to go. I haven't flushed my plants at all. Doesn't apply. That's a 4x4 space. Both pics are 4x4 spaces.one being utilized a bit better lol.@W81

Super soil in a 10 gallon pot will make it so you only need to water through the entire grow. There are many great super soils out there. I use coast of Maine in 5 gallon pots. Top dress twice with veg then flower amendments and use teas and it's good to go. Though if I was just beginning organics I would use a 10 gallon pot and call it a day until you get more of an understanding of the cannabis life cycle and how things work out! Plus in 10 gals you will get monster plants!

Indeed, mine are 7gallons. I have a 4-4-4 organic top dress at the ready in case I need. Also FF synthetic trio I bought early on,but don't use. I also Brew ocean forest with my aerator, with a mid size bag I can get about 400 to 500 ppm tea from it.

I'm almost at week 5 of this grow. I'm pretty sure I'm going kill these off afterwards. Sucks but find seeds at harvest is worse. We ordered new seeds and hopefully they come in soon. Once we start them I will be starting a new journal here. I'm excited!

Wasn't clear to me what type of seed. Femming a strain sometimes produce "micro-seeds"...which aren't true seeds. They will pop when you smoke them. I stopped growing fems for this reason.

I searched the term on here and found someone post about them earlier in the year! So that makes sense. What causes them? When I grind my bud I see thousands of chopped up shell type casings. No seeds tho. One of my previous grows did have full seeds. But I always get casings. Guess that makes me think hermi

The micro-seed thing doesn't effect every strain...but some, when undergoing the fem process, get confused. Not sure of technical reasons.

With regular seeds but no males...and you still get seed-like thingys...probably from a herm. If you gave it enough time...seeds will mature.

Also...with a high CBD strain...isn't most ingestion done via edibles? So the seed issue isn't such an issue.,,,is my thinking.

We call those 'pod shells' calyxes and are where a seed would grow if the plant gets pollinated. They are supposed to be like that at harvest time. All plumped up and covered in trichomes but like Republicans and Pepsi' . . . empty from the neck up.

Hahahah empty from the neck up. After drying does the ovule turn brown? Or is that a start of a seed? The amount of calyx in this bud is crazy. Didnt think that much was normal.
