Hello wonderful herbal folks I'm just trying to get some tips or advice about the harvest day 7 days from now , the big question being should I?. I thought about harvesting last week but now that I see them this week I can honestly say they packed on a lot of weight, like if they had a burst of magic last night because they really just budded even more it was beautiful anyways, they are starting to lean alot and I cant afford the proper things I need so I rigged it with shoe laces ,but how long do you think I have left or do you think it what be terrible if I harvested a little early ?.Asking mainly because I might be outta town new years and I just dont want them to die without water.I brought a jewlers loupe and it was broken straight out the box from amazon.pleaseeee help.

Lols you really think so I'm counting ten weeks starting Monday 11 gosh this has been a beautiful process but ik I might not do anymore bagseeds there so spontaneous and anything can really happen unexpectedly. I read some sativa plants can go for 14 weeks but i can now see the ambering with out squinty my eyes it's not all over yet but it's almost a decent amount

Yah definitely. It’s got awhile to go. Where are you seeing amber trichromes? Fans leaves? Sativas can and usually go for some time and with the light you’re using it may take longer even.

Your plant looks ok, but I would guestimate about 12-15 more days.

Determining maturity isn't about one single factor, its about watching ALL the signs the plant is giving you. As you grow more plants you will begin to be able to read those signs, and understand what point your plant is at.

FIRST 90% of the stigma(pistils) will turn red(ish) and begin to actually shrink/shrivel back towards the buds. (check)

THEN the bracts(calyxs) will begin to fatten up internally. The buds won't be appearing to grow much outwardly at this point but will be adding density and weight still. I've watched strong stems bend over in just a couple days during this period from the added mass. (This is where I think you are at)

FINALLY after about 2ish weeks of swelling, then you can look at trichomes on the actual buds and determine your final harvest point.

There are plenty of variables that can alter time periods, but for the most part cannabis plants follow pretty consistent patterns of growth and ripening.

It is VERY EASY to harvest a plant too early and loose out on flavor, smell, yield, and overall quality.

It is VERY HARD to harvest too late. I have never seen someone accidentally over ripen a plant, it would take weeks of ignoring your plant for that to happen.

I just finished a 100% sativa that went 20 weeks. It was well worth the wait. If you're impatient then you should probably be growing a fast finishing Indica dominant strain.

Fan leaves only one of the plants I see amber trichs on the sugar leaves as well but it's not alot
I was taught that trichomes mature on sugar leaves before they do inside the bud, which is hopefully what we’re mostly smoking or vaping. To accurately examine, cut a tiny cross section of calyx so you can put the bud interior under the microscope. Check those trichs for amber. However to compound your confusion, sativa sometimes doesn’t amber up...

And you likely don’t yet have a frame of reference for how you like your maturity.

When in doubt, wait it out!
Enjoy your harvest

This was bagseed so the fact that it went through a complete veg surprised me,I grew this without really know anything about the seeds. I wasn't trying to say I'm rushing I just came this far and dont want two days out of town to ruin it.
