That's exactly how I feel. I spent so much money on all those Hydro stuff and to get my hydro grow going I barely had the money to get some soil, some good soil. I'm using dr. Earth pot of gold that's already loaded with mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial bacteria and then I amended it with some general Organics Alaskan hummus earthworm castings and added perlite. I'm just going to stick with my Good Old Organics until I get a water chiller or a better grasp on hydroponics.

Your info is so fucked up you should be banned from the internet. Southern AG is not the same as hydroguard, and pool shock sucks. It inhibits root growth on new clones. I've used it with a digital pool test kits and tried several formulations but it always sucked. It takes to much free chlorine to kill pathogens at levels that are toxic to plant roots.
Also uc roots is hydrochloris acid and is basically pasteurized chlorine that takes 1000s of dollars in equipment to make. It is definitely not the same as tht pool shock as people claim. It took me a week of research to even find out wtf hydrocloolus acid is.

You also mentioned heisen got root rot. That was actually the one time he got a bad batch of hydroguard and did a ton of experiments using pool shock and figured out how bad pool shock sucks.
That was awhile back and he has since beat pythium out 100 percent.

Lol I havnt even used that light yet. It was sent to me for free to test. I have over 8 grand in cobs and quantum boards as well as hps double ended set ups for another 2.



6 plants under 15 cobs 750 watts in rdwc with no chiller. Just a pump and a top off res.

So back to the hydro slime, it's back and I'm done. Well black gunk filling my roots and skyrocketing my ph. I started indoor so I would have more time with my family and hydro is wasting my time. Wash roots constantly and switch solution, I'm going back to my organic ways to finish these 2 off. I think i need to ditch the AN and try hydro again with canna cyco DM or even GH. I really think AN nutes just are not compatible well with dwc. Seems like any nutes I give only feeds the black junk in my roots.

now's the time to figure out what the problem(s) are. hydro is no harder than soil IMO. i think it's easier as you have more control over the plants, roots, nutes, etc.
if you always learn from your mistakes and never make the same one twice, you eventually run out of mistakes to make.

I've been using LEDs and CMH for the last few yrs , except one SE 1000 hps tent grow in a cooltube last winter. And while the quality is great I have noticed I'm missing those big long forearm colas. I cant say for sure it's the lighting and not the strains I'm growing but I feel like LEDs just want yield those solid colas.

Update! I have cure to root rot! Successfully transplant to organic soil. Lol. My ladies didnt even flinch. I thought there would be some stress but theres no slow down and they are reaching for the light. I'll post pics later. Thank you for all your help and knowledge. When i can buy a chiller I will try hydro again. It's a must in my situation.
