... the stem growth/strong stems??? or do they just need time to build up a strong and sturdy stem?
What size is that? This cost $16 and is enough to make gallons and gallons of the same stuff as Pro-Tekt. Mine's just collecting dust because I stopped using it. The less stuff you dump on your plants the better as far as I'm concerned. Just as overeating affects the health of humans the same is true for cannabis.
It's a 1 pound container. I bought it from Custom Hydro Nutrients. The current price is $16.64. It doesn't take much at all. 0.7 grams in one gallon of water yeilds 98ppm SiO2 or 46ppm Si, and 49ppm K. They have the concentrated stock solutions & dilution rates on the website. What size is that?
Per their website, it looks like it would take 560g of potassium silicate to make a gallon of Protekt. Am I reading that correctly? It's a 1 pound container. I bought it from Custom Hydro Nutrients. Yes you are. To make a 7.8% solution which is what Pro-Tekt has it's 560 grams per gallon or 1.2 pounds. I guess it won't make gallons and gallons but it's still less than a third the cost and it's easy to mix up your own solution.Per their website, it looks like it would take 560g of potassium silicate to make a gallon of Protekt. Perhaps you weren't seeing the benefits because you were running such a watered down solution?Pro-Tekt is just a potassium silicate solution. You can pay $20 a quart or under $20 for a pound of water soluble potassium silicate and make a hundred gallons of potassium silicate solution. I used silica for a few grows but stopped it's use after that. I didn't think it was necessary.
In my experience...... the stem growth/strong stems??? or do they just need time to build up a strong and sturdy stem?
^ This guy always knows his shit.In my experience...
Stem growth = nitrogen
Strong stems = potassium
In my experience, silica has more of an affect on the leaves than anywhere else. Overdo it (5mls/gal of protekt) and your leaves become brittle.
