first DWC grow

Looks good, except that one leave is toast, but she’ll be fine. The best plant I’ve ever grown was almost killed as a seedling from nute lock, but it came back with a vengeance! It topped itself as a seedling & became the bigger best plant in the bunch. The strain was Chemodo Dragon & it’s center cola was a massive 3 headed dragon.

Ok so she’s in the bucket!

grow shop didn’t sell hydroguard or that fungicide stuff so I just grabbed a bottle of regen-a-root as that’s what the guy recommended

got some atami a and b hydro nutes as I’m using the soil version and am happy with results in soil

got my ph up and down and P.H. buffer 7

washed my clay pebbles

added small amount of nutrients and Regen a root , phd down to 5.6

and transplanted her into the clay pebbles

don’t have a thermometer to check water temps yet but will get tomorrow and hopefully ppm reader arrives by tomorrow too but here’s a little pic sorry for the lights on

Hey im going to follow. I you remind me of my first black bucket grow. Dont worry about your rez temps yet. Your fine. You need to establish some roots. Keep the light out of the rez. 5.8 ph is the sweet spot. Then it can swing from 5.5 to 6.2 comfortably. If you put it at 5.5 and something happens, say it swings to 4.9 you dont have time to react. Good luck! Im doing a RDWC.

I washed the clay pebbles in the sink and then put them in the net pot

phd prior to putting the net pot in so could be some runoff or residue from the net pot making it go up a bit, should I drop a ml of ph down in there or just see how she goes
I would dump the rez you need to clean out the tapwater from the hydroton. Are you using nutes yet?

Would you reccomend re cleaning the hydroton in the Rez water before I dump it?

if not how do I get the tap water out

and ok new Rez it is, I was using a very small amount of nutes but no ppm reader until tomorrow so don’t know ppm yet

Ok so no big loss. Just dump the rez and fill it back up until the ph stabilizes a bit. Wont take too long you dont have much hydroton. When you fill up the rez, fill up phed water through your hydroton

Crazy mutation how did it taste?
Smoked & tasted Incredible! I still have a few oz’s left from that mutant plant
On a newer grow, I just found out last night that all 4 of my plants in late veg have early pistol growth so they are all female. I feel like a proud new dad...Great way to start off the new year! I’m flipping to flower this weekend...

Rez dumped filled a new Rez fucked around with the attachment on the side for 10 mins as it was leaking a little.
added root stuff
Added small amount of nutes
Dropped ph down to 5.7
Run 5.7 ph water through the clay pebbles

let’s see how she gets on by tonight hopefully the ph stays sensible

I just thought the swing fron 5.6 to 6.4 was drastic. But myke is right the airstone will mess with your ph

Also quick question when you fill a new Rez do you just fill it with straight cold water or stick a little warm in there too to try get the 65f from the refill or just let the temp rise naturally

I just stick cold water in. Not much you can do without a chiller the rez temp is going to follow your room temp +/- light. I have personally never used a chiller. Light is your enemy here. Put tinfoil around your base. Cover your airhose
