First grows chop day. Did anyone else feel this sad on their first chop?

Happy to finally harvest but sad to kill my baby. This was a White Dwarf Auto by Buddha Seeds. Went into soil July 16th, 2019. She flipped early September and her flowering process was extremely slow. No big issues during her flowering stage until some slight nutrient burn towards the end of her flowering. The Trichomes never went amber, the plant started to fade and dry on its own and I had to chop it early. The trichomes were 10% clear, 80% cloudy and 10% amber. It was grown under a 200W “Blurple” LED with a Bloom switch and a UVB Bulb. Light schedule was 20/4 during veg and 14/10 during Flower. The soil was Mother Earth Groundswell and fed FloraNova 4-8-7 nutrients. I did not do any training on this plant whatsoever, I just let it grow how it grew.

Yes. Call me a wimp but I remember feeling bad for a day or so after killing my first plants.(poured so much effort into it) I also felt bad after killing a mom that I had for years. It’s all that effort and love put in a plant. Hell I still name my mom plants. I’ve also felt great when I chop a plant that has been a bastard the whole grow. But it’s just a plant fulfilling it’s plant destiny, I just enjoy the whole process.

I couldn't imagine killing a mom, that would devastate me

I feel bad every time... I get so attached and I had to get rid of my lesser phenos. But now later I’m thinking I’ll never get that pheno back . It’s natural but there is so much more to grow ...it’s normal .

Yea I had to take a break for a couple of years. I still miss that plant. It was a great super lemon haze. I’m not even attempting to try and find it again...i doubt greenhouse has the right stuff anymore.

The only thing I feel bad about harvesting is the fact that I have to trim up the harvest. I hate trimming with a passion.

But that's one long flowering auto. Almost six months from when you planted it? That's crazy. I thought the point of auto's was that they finished faster. I can harvest two crops of photoperiod plants in just a little over six months if planting from seed and even faster if growing from clone.

What's the weight on that one cola? Looks like it could kick a mule. I don't have that passion for living things where I can't benefit from their death. I defoliated the other day and dried the leaves to see if they would have a smell afterwards. I pulverized the little pile in my hand and it smelled exactly like sour d crossed with og kush so I'm getting anxious to finish my grow.

it’s abnormaly long, she was supposed to be done in about 75 days. I’m guessing it was just pretty bad genetics.

I’m not sure yet! I’ll have to weight it by itself when it’s done drying. The thing is the size of my forearm! Lol

I chopped my first grow just before Christmas and while I said a little thank you to "Mildred" for giving her life for me, the only thing that upset me was having to wait before I could sample her. Ended up with 4 1/2 oz dried, not bad for a small stealth grow. Amnesia Lemon, sativa dominant, real fruity smell and taste and a real nice smoke, if anyone is looking for a good strain ;)

Well it looks like you'll get a decent amount of bud off that plant but the time it took to grow is insane. Enjoy the smoke. bongsmilie

That's a good amount! I'm hoping for at least 2oz dried. Here’s a pic of them hanging after the wash.
