Haven't built one myself yet but a friend had a spare driver lying around, the model is ELG-240H-48B. This driver to my understanding will do 240w at 220v but only about 180w at 110v.
Since my house is only wired for 110v and boards run about 120w each max, I don't want to waste 2 boards on a driver that maxes out at 180w instead of the full 240w. My only concerns are:
- If I run one board (~150w absolute MAX or so I've heard) what happens if my potentiometer fails? Will it let through the full 180w and fry the board? Or will it let nothing through. I dont want to risk a house fire.
- if I run the F Series strips instead and 1 strip burns out, will it nuke the rest of the strips?
Also what boards or strips do you recommend for this driver?
Thanks
