A PH of 5.6 is too acidic. You need to raise the PH of your watering solution to about 6.5.

A pH of 5.6 is fine. That's what I use. I keep it between 5.6 and 5.8. Any hydro grower will tell you that 5.8 is what you want. I also would like to know what your ppm is...

He's growing in a DWC... in other words HYDRO.... 5.6 is PERFECT for hydro... 6.5 is way to high!

7800 K, don't adjust your PH just yet.

What is the temp of the water in the res. and what do your roots look like? Ideally you want the water temp UNDER 70 F. If you are running a water pump in there and have no way to cool the water then you will have a breeding ground for bad bacteria leading to root rot. What do the roots look like? They should be a healthy white color.... if they are turning brown you may have the beginning of a fungus that is preventing the roots from taking up the nutes.

If your roots are looking brown then you need to get started treating them right away. Hydrogen Peroxide is a good start in treating root fungus.

Good luck :D

5.8 good 5.6 bad

If they have been on plain water for 2 days start feeding at half strength for a week you should start to notice an improvement. When you do you can start building your nutes up gradually.

And yes good question, what strength were your nutes?

a water pump was added to the rez,and water temp has been 70-72.the roots are browning.been using 1.25ml per gallon h2o2.tds ec ppm meter is in route,so is the vita grow, was using mg 15-30-15(with trace elements)epsom salt, peroxide, superthrive.it's pretty decent but don't wanna use that 4ever.ups on the info bro, thnx.

Just as I suspected. It came to my mind pretty quickly because I'm having the same problem and it took me a while to put 2 + 2 together.

My first grow went GREAT .... this grow I'm doing the same way so what the fuck was going on? Well... the one thing I'm doing different this grow is not watching the water temp. First grow I used frozen 2 liter bottles of water in the res. I swapped them out a couple of times a day and it kept the temp down in the mid 60s.

This time I got lazy and skipped the frozen bottles... BIG MISTAKE! I'm growing Hempy method (which is a passive soilless hydro method) and I made the mistake of disregarding the water temp. My water going in was around 74.... and the problems started.

I'm treating my water with H2O2 and have gone back to using the frozen water bottles to combat the problem. While I know what the problem is... I know I will still have a significantly reduced harvest because even with treatment the roots are already damaged and won't recover fully. Lesson learned the hard way :(

As a side note, some nutes can discolor roots so don't confuse discoloration for fungus. Roots that are suffering from high temps will have a slimy film building up on them (can be slight or significant), this is the fungus growing. Roots that are just discolored shouldn't have slime on them.

Try to get your water temps down to the mid 60s and keep treating with h2o2.

Best of luck to you :D
