MEIZHI and Spider Farmer LEDS

Do not buy MEIZHI or SPIDER FARMER

So what has happened?
Well I’m a supplier or LED grow lights..
Last year I sourced
45 x 1200w MEIZHI
12 x 600w MEIZHI
4 x Spider farmer

All these are made by a company called LG-LED solutions ltd in China, and sold on eBay and Amazon by [email protected] or hydroponicseller.de or Spider Farmer

They run out of a rented office in Manchester with no direct contact possible.

The lights were distributed to 4 different locations.

Every single light failed within 6 months of purchase, but they were sold with a 3 year warranty. 1 year replacement and 2 years parts replacement.

After several emails regarding the failures MIEZHI finally sent 14 second hand drivers for us to replace (even though they promised new) and charged us carriage!
This did not fix the issues, they then ignored emails for several months until the lights were out of the first year warranty, and after threatening legal action they then told us that parts were no longer available!!

So now we are left with £15,000 worth of lights that do not work, all efforts to contact MEIZHI via eBay, amazon and email are now being ignored.
The failure rate on these Chinese lights is just shocking.

So please, before you buy anything from MEIZHI or SPIDER FARMER I urge you to think twice. The lights will fail, and you will not get any warranty on them at all.
For anyone interested I have copies of all the communications and lots of pictures of the failed lights..

I bought a Meizhi 1200 watt last year. Within 3 months, half of the led’s were out. Warranty basically non existent.

Well that’s where I am now, although they are now talking with me they have not really offered any solution. With the amount of money at stake here I cannot afford to leave it.
Court action in the uk will follow as the lights are not fit for purpose and no real warranty solution has yet been offered

Thanks for the heads up. I don't see any Spider Farmers in the pics... what failed, diodes or driver?

Thank god i saw this post! I was just watching and considering to buy Meizhi 1200w.. Holy shit, im little shocked about that amount of failure.. I wish you all the luck for this shitshow!

There is a few spider farmer lights in there.. the interior of the lights are identical, same factory. Same support. As for should not of bought Chinese leds.. the vast majority of leds come from China, and although these have a good yield the failure rate is unacceptable and so far no warranty solution offered accept “ we will send you hundreds of leds for me to solder in!!!!)

My mistake, I forgot spider farmer made blurples and I was thinking of the Spider Farmer SF series of boards with the white SMD diodes.

Why people buy these shit grow lights is beyond me?

HLG, Timber, Amare, CobKits, AutoCobs, RapidLED

^^ safe to buy from these companies if you aren't comfortable DIY'ing a strip or quantum board build.

If you can't afford a decent light , WAIT till u can or use a cc FFS. Who wants junk laying around the house???

So what would b ur choice as a good quality led or cob???

OP, clearly you lack the knowledge of what a proper led light should be, spectrum-wise, cause even if the Meizhi's didn't have a high failure rate, they're still shit lights for a fruiting plant like cannabis

The SFs appear to be a much different light with spectrums fit for cannabis growing, they are surface mount, the diodes have a silicon coating and they appear to use proper drivers.

Hopefully someone starts a thread using the SFs

I am just crawling, 1 outdoor & 1 Indoor grow so far. Just became RIU member recently, first time ever joining online anything.

The SF 4000 is only for a short term use, not the long haul in a new 10' x 8' veg room. 2 cover the entire area. They will be replaced with a quality light yet TBD, price will not be a factor when replacing.

It does have a Meanwell driver & other quality electronic parts. I can source them @ Mouser, Newark, Digikey etc. if needed. There is also a 3 year warranty, I have been in contact with the SF Support and have received prompt replys about my 2 inquiry's about light hanging to canopy height.

We shall see when it comes to the warranty service.
As soon as I get any failure I will post it.

I did consider building the HLG 600 Kit @ the time. If you build it "DIY" no warranty. And the cost for 2 was not good on the budget @ the time.

I want to know just what component/s has failed on all of his lights?
