1 plant under led question..?

If it breaks I can drive down the road and get it fixed. That's pretty much it. I like the peace of mind.

£2414.75 for 5 if they can price match. I'll be using 1.225 kw/h, instead of 7 ballasts 3.080 per kw/h. That's going to be a noticeable reduction on my electric bill. My electric is £18 ish per day. It will be about £7 per day I hope.
You on 220? Cut your Amps in half.
Yeah, they aint gonna fix it. And i wouldn't want them touching it to be honest. They might send it back just as you could & get a solid replacement from the company rather then who knows what at the grow store.
They could have a few beaters in the back they pull parts from, who knows. But all that voids true warranty.
I'd buy direct if i were you.
They don't break or burn out when you buy quality, passive fixtures like those.
If one did, that company would be on top of it quick, I'm pretty sure.

Is that true though, I would of thought your local store will maybe swap it if they have a replacement or more likely send yours off for repair maybe taking a few weeks to get it back.

Its highly likely the light isn't made in the UK either, or do you know for sure they are?

I buy all my things at the local hydro shop, nutes, the lot. It's close, I can pay cash and they look after me there. Get 10% everything. I have some broken fan controllers that they have sent back to be repaired and they are around 3 years old. I bought Budmasters and had a fault, they sent me a new fan, it was the wrong size. They then ignored my emails about sending me the correct fan. Plus when we did take the back off it was a fucking nightmare. That's the exact type of bollocks I just can't be arsed with. So for peace of mind that I ain't just buying from some dude selling shady leds from his parents basement, I just go to the hydro shop and get my things. lol

Well if they do it will be at their cost. If it goes missing in the post it will be their round. I'll keep a couple of the 400w ballasts as spare lights anyway. If it got sent away, I'm cool with that.

What yield did you get with your 400w hps in a 3x3 tent? total grow time?
Best one was a Sweet Seeds Trainwreck auto. 13 ounces in 9 weeks from seed. Rest I didn't weigh. I do have pics of the bud in the journal in my signature. I ain't the best grower in the world. I always averaged about half a gram per watt. It was my 1st coco grow though, so the yield has gone up loads from growing in soil un budmasters.

One plant under a 3x3 light , but yeah you want to spread the light out as even as you can to get the most yeild and the most even footprint you can get, it makes a difference for sure. I am running 18 cobs for 2 cobs per sq ft. View attachment 4455737
Are you a machinist or metal worker? Saw the top of your light the other day, its a right treat.
Obviously the plants are great too but the cleanness of your build is top notch.

Lovely looking plant there. Nice spectrum. That's the point I was thinking of. Spreading the light. Was just doing the maths.

5 of these for £2414.75

Or 10 of these for £2939.50

Yeah it's an extra £500, however imagine the improvement on lightspread using 2 leds instead of 1 big rectangular led. Plus less wasted reflecting off the edges. In the end, is that worth £500?

I hear you! Ima GrowStore Fanatic myself. Even know there's so much on-line. Plus mine's a wharehouse with wholesale pricing & an additional 30% off for me.
Walk into a fully stocked Big-Ass Wharehouse after harvest & my pockets pull me towards everything! Lol!

Thanks, I was a machinist out of highschool , made parts for the F-14 Tomcat for awhile. But that was a long time ago had many jobs between. I am building prototype cold weather or super insulated greenhouse that I designed. A similar designed light system as above will go in the greenhouse. We usually get to -20 f here a couple days in the winter so that time of the year is not plant friendly. My design will keep the greenhouse over 40F when it gets to -20 Now if the snow would melt so I could get back to work on it. Might have to wait till Feb before it warms up a little bit here.

So if you buy x10 , 120's the you're paying $2.44/w?
The x5 is all you need. 245w bar style like that will cover a 4x2.5. X5 of those will give you just as good coverage as x10, 120's, unless you wanted to take from the middle to add to the sides.
X5 of those should nail a 10x4.
They're 36" long at least right?
Remember, you can remove the lenses in the middle to reduce that center Hot-spot & spread some intracanopy photons around.

Not familiar with those but they have 2.7 umol/j i wouldn't buy anything new that's lower than that. I think the highest right now is 3.06 umol/j the samsung chips

lmao!
First off, half these bozos are lying.
Second, the ones that aren't have a bad habit of posting board efficiency rather then system efficiency. Big difference.
3.0 is what the Diode manufactures say they can accomplish at a much lower current then we use.
Id shoot for 2.2+. Getting some insane results off 2.0 & up.
For what he wants to pay the 2.7 claim is great even if 2.4 system.
Thems there look like can't lose lights.

I think it's definitely worth the initial additional investment for two 120 watters. @hybridway2 the layout of the 245w model certainly looks good for a 2x4, but it's a bit narrow to make the best use of a 3x3, I would think.

All my tents are 3ft x 3ft / 90cm x 90cm. That's why I was thinking a bar that is 82.5 cm vs 2 that are 60cm is worth pondering over.

That's what my instinct is telling me. The q3 120w model is 119 x 174 x 605mm. The q6 is 119 x 174 x 825mm. The layout of two q3 leds would be exactly where I would put single cobs. 4 near the corners, but not too close. 2 near the middle, but not too close to eachother. Almost perfect maybe?

That wont do 4'.
Am i wrong about the length?
I like the x2 , 60cm option myself.

If 60cm / 2' in a 3x3, that's perfect. You want your lights at least 6" from the wall on both sides or you're wasting light.
