Prepping SOLO Cups :
Here is a simple method to help “ condition “ seedlings and sensitive strains to FFOF. Instead of just planting, I begin to introduce a small charge into a mix. NO ADDITIONAL NUTES are required for this SOLO grow start. This is where some growers screw up a seedling by concocting a overly thought feed for such a small container .... I even read a journal about a guy checking run off from a solo cup !
This needs nothing But water , and light. Very little water will be needed for this cup. Misting the seedling also hydrates it.
All I am doing is creating a plug ready for more FFOF in a larger container. Great white is the magic ... tempers shock , transplant and you can have receiving container pre-dusted in plug hole to further stimulate root growth.
This is my method especially for autos as I’m trying to root it out as quickly and as efficiently as I can for it’s short veg stage.
Solo prep for straight seed / plug / rock wool / peat pellet / clone :
Im
not trying to reinvent the obvious ways to plant just a simple , easy way to get plants to acclimate .
First, this uses a clear and red solo . Some growers like to peep on the roots sometimes. The red solo will be the sleeve to hinder
light to roots. Both are holed for drainage.
These are 2 Sour Stomper x Purple Gorilla Autos ( ready to cup ) or plant.
One baggy contains FFOF with extra perlite . Second baggy contains EB Stone with perlite ( you can substitute Promix, Dr.Earth, Happy Frog , etc . )
Peat Based
First , I grab 1 handful of FFOF , tap cup to settle down then do other cup.
I take a small scoop of great white myco ( recharge / MYKOS / or your choice )
and tap a bit across the top of FFOF BASE of both cups ( or your number of cups used ).
Then a mist a bit of moisture from a spray bottle ( water is bottled water source )
( I used this instead of tap “ initially “ as not to kill the myco with chlorinated water ).
Finish cup by filling with lighter Peat based mix ( eb Stone or whatever ) .
I do a simple watering via spray bottle to dampen plug and surrounding top soil.
Then you get happy plants to enjoy.
REMEMBER the cup’s medium will feed the plant ...... no additional Nutes needed.
Once plant reaches to point of transplant , I begin using my tap sources for water.
