Is sledgehammer flush necessary?

This is my first grow and im only at the seedling stage so far but i bought the FF trio for a couple weeks down the road. I was gonna use the feeding schedule but maybe start it at 1/4 strength when i start feeding. I noticed it says sledgehammer flush after a couple weeks. Do i really need to buy the bush doctor sledgehammer and perform this flush every couple weeks?

no, you certainly don't. and don't push nutes, up the dose according to their needs and wants. it's very simple to grow weeds, no need to get too complex....

IMO Sledgehammer for when you have salt buildup in the soil. Takes lot of nutes and a small pot for that to happen. The good thing about Sledgehammer is you dont have to run as much water through the pots when you use it, although you definitely need to run enough through to wash all the sledgehammer out

LOL, so you have to flush the sledgehammer after you flush with sledgehammer.

Redundant?
No i think he was saying you have to flush enough water (without sledgehammer in it) after you flush with sledgehammer so that you run all of it out

sledgehammer flush was created to break the ionic bond between the fertilizer salts and the soil, which regular water flush could not get rid of.

it was made after many many growers and smokers such as myself repeatedly complained about being able to taste fox farms in the smoke, to this day i dont feel sledgehammer has made much of a difference although those buds that were flushed tend to be smoother and not crackle in the smoke.

just another reason i grow all organically, but to each his own! but i would definitely cough up the 20 bucks for a bottle, your taste buds and lungs will love you for it!

You dont want to use FF nutes on top of already nuted soil like Happy Frog. Very easy to burn plants if you nute on top of nute enriched soil.
Flushing with Sledgehammer one day is like flushing with regular water for a week.
After using Sledgehammer the plants will get hungry again pretty fast.
Do a 3 day flush every few weeks like it suggests.
Do not add nutes, other than Big Bloom, on top of happy frog or ocean forest soil.

FLush for two weeks.Put water through until it comes out nearly clear.
This is why sledgehammer is important. It does a better job of flushing then only water.

During flower you do mini 3 day flush every few weeks. Use Sledgehammer one day then only water one day.
At the very end, once it looks ready to pick, then use Sledgehammer first day of flush then two weeks of only water.
The plants will also bulge up a bit the final two weeks.

Nothing like starving your plants to do absolutely nothing lmao.
Nothing like the guy posting before you reviving an eight year old thread regarding a worthless product. Sledgehammer is a waste of money. FACT! And I agree, starving your plants is just plain stupid. some Stoners have their own "alternate" science. :bigjoint:

necro posts keep the forum alive =). I could see a use for a flush/cleaning product if you have built up the salts in your soil to the point of lockout, however I don't know if it would actually help without testing it myself....plain ph water seemed to work fine to me.
