Hey ,so this is my first time growing from seeds. I have 2 plants running under a 1000w LED light 30" away from the Canopy along with the FoxFarm lineup, 18/6. Plants are looking Marvelous , Mild green and strong. It would B 2months at the end of JAN. 2020 n was thinking about switching it 2 flower the beginning of FEB. 2020 But its Only 10" - 11" Tall but very bushy. Im not sure if im at a deadline for Veg and should switch or let it grow a little into FEB. n start Flowering in the Middle of FEB. BC of the height of the Plants. Any Tips would Help me Alot with a Stand still I believe im at ‍‍

If you were defoliating along the way it would be taller from saving energy on the internodal growth. I would defoliate now but you don't absolutely have to do that until stuff starts dying from lack of oxygen.

If you have the room and height I would let them get a little bigger. You need to account for some stretching and still have space between your plants and light. Look great though.

If you were defoliating along the way it would be taller from saving energy on the internodal growth. I would defoliate now but you don't absolutely have to do that until stuff starts dying from lack of oxygen.

so is it true or False that its not Ok 2 defoliate in Veg when they are small... But they are healthy!!!

I don't start defoliating until a fan leave blocks a top/budsite. I started getting tops early on because I topped my plants at the 5th and 6th nodes to get 4 colas. If you haven't topped you can go longer before defoliating. When you top the hormone redirects and bushes out. When you defoliate and remove internodal growth the hormone redirects back to the top.

Not the spacing between the plants, the spacing inside the plant as in colas and potential colas being covered by inward pointing foliage. Topping or Fimming is not an option here. I'm wondering if the lights could be used to open up more colas and you could lay down a net at 12" and spread out the branches under it to fill it in and remove the lower 20% and some defoliating to open it up for more colas.
When it stops growing and you go to flower it should raise up another 12"ish I think.

Outside leaves or large ones act like solar panels to catch light for energy conversion. the inner lil leaves yeah pull those.......all they do is create a possibility for mildew and reduce light penetration

You never mentioned how big your space is. And what size pots. Also, LST will get you a bushy plant if you tie down all branches as the come. No topping required. Or top and tie

Disagree. Pulling the larger leaves allows the smaller leaves to receive more light, thus grow into large leaves themselves.

Defoliating in veg will result in a bushy plant. Side branches won't be as stretchy because it didn't come from the shade. Mix this with LST or a Scrog, and you'll be overwhelmed with branches.

Entering the flower stage, remove any branches that will never reach the canopy. About the lower 1/3 of the plant. You can do this in veg as well as to not waste energy growing a branch that will be cut.

Defoliating before flower will slow the stretch down. Defoliating on day 21 from flip may reduce yields, but have better quality on lower nugs.

Unless you were talking about the flower stage. Yea, having a bunch of flower sites all crammed together will cause problems. Cut the too-small or weak branches
