i was hoping theyd be a lil more exciting, man.
Yeah, I kind of had a feeling all that hype they were trying to build would fall flat. I'm still a bit intrigued by their choice to pump that 660nm so hard though.

And this is a great example of what we've been discussing in the other threads these past couple of days. Another manufacturer playing spectrum roulette for the sake of differentiation. I don't think any current manufacturer really KNOWS what's optimum.

I'm still kicking rocks waiting on blux strips;-)

Teknik promised a gonio run on them too, should be good
ah yeah, Rockets mentioned those too i think. all the nerds seem to be on the blux lol

yeah man, monkey darts.

imo, youre better off doubling your gram per square foot by growing in racks.

unless you're in Israel maybe

Yeah, no doubt, bro. I'm sure I'll end up using UV and other colored monos at some point, just out of pure curiosity, but based on what we know now, the game is appropriate intensity and yield. Besides, I'm really damn pleased with the aroma, flavor, and potency of everything I've grown under straight 3000k, as are many other growers.

Are you nerd shaming me? Im a proud led nerd :P

Also led-tech got lm301b in said spectrum, i think they already sold half of them out to a friend of mine though.

hahaha!
the nerds are taking over. do you bitcoin at all?

and half, lol!

people will always tinker. i think its splitting hairs and id wager it'll stay photons > spectrum for long long time.

same. seen a lot of LED weed win comps recently, too, flower and extracts. i dont buy what Grow Lights Australia is saying in the other thread about the "smoke and sniff" test.

No bitcoins, but its our go to excuse for power consumption. ;)

You bastard, jealous........ Can we get any info when built? I don't know anyone else on here with them to grow & show.

If close to the paperwork after gonio test, oh boy..
If the datasheet is accurate and my comparison to blux Vestas is correct then they should be 2.7 at nominal. Thats damn good, but nominal is about .12w per diode. But that price makes it worth it. After the new power regimen at our new place im thinking driving them even softer nominal, also after seeing cobshop bleaching his bud with 200w over a 3x3. Hoping yo do the equivalent of a 4x4 with around 400w or less.

The growcraft looks good for efficiency but spectrum seems a lot more boring than the gen2. Seems like the same as so many others.
Maybe something to use as redsup for a straight 3000k build. I prefer a nice low k white spectrum in 90cri, get as much red as you can from those whites, instead of adding red to it later.

I plan to compare with some of the other lights currently available as far as cost per diode. I think there are some Amazon brands like 'SpiderFarmer' that use the same 50/50 mix of LM301B diodes with red supplement and meanwell drivers with dimmers so I don't really know what the benefit of the new Chilled can really be unless I'm confused and it's a new diode spec.
