Diode count per $$ seems similar (2100 for 8400 nichias, 1500 for 6000ish samsungs+ali crees) so what do you trust more, an ali vendor or a forum sponsor?
Also, i saw the the or_gro side by side tests:
Prawns beat hlg samsungs with hlg monos+uv. It was close but defo a win. And this was even with ppfd and spectrums pretty much equalized.
In this case youd be using ali samsung diodes which i cant really believe will be the same as hlg. Also the prawn boards are 90cri which means more balanced spectrum: less blue dipp around 470-480.
Your in the uk and i assume comericial: who grows 60 square feet of weed for own consumption??? The extra cost per square feet is 10£ (sorry getting confused with $$ and £) and weed is expensive in the uk. Like those 10£ are worth what, 3 grams??? I believe in the many cycles youll make with these boards the prawn boards will make you those 3 grams over and over again.
Also: if something goes wrong and one breaks, who would you like to deal with prawn or the chinese? Who ya gonna call
No prejudice whatsoever but i bet you prawn would take better care of you. Hell, i think even if he made you buy a new board youd still be making better coin with prawns. Well, i know its growlights oz, but i bet you the same.
The little money difference per dioode makes this a easy decision
Both solutions give sufficient spread. One board does approx 2'x1.5'. If youre going with prawns id love to see the build. Ill pm you if you dont mind. Ive been doing some larger builds with fotop boards but my clients favorite was the one i did with 2700k 90cri. I dont think youll be disappointed with the prawn board. If you want another cheaper alternative it would be blux eb gen3 but its still untested. Also no uv. But it looks like a price beater. Ill take delivery of a bunch in a couple of weeks.

If you go to our website and type in a UK address, it will automatically deduct 10% Australian tax (as you are outside Australia). Also, don't forget to use the RIU discount coupon "FORUM" for an additional 10% discount.

Just to give you an idea of how our prices compare to others, Quantum Board R-Specs are on sale for US$80 each. Our boards are 1.6x bigger (including number of diodes). 1.6x US$80 = US$128. The above prices I quoted for our boards are around US$110 per board. So our prices are very competitive. And the quality of our boards is – we believe – second to none. (You would expect us to say that, but that is also the feedback we have been getting from all our buyers.)

When @Prawn Connery came up with the idea for the High Light boards and we started working on them, he just wanted to get them out to a few growers and anyone on RIU who might be interested. When it became clear there was more interest, I thought there might be an opportunity. Prawn just wanted to keep growing
We're a small operation. The most important thing for us is to build decent boards and not cut corners. If things grow from there, great! But things can quickly turn to shit if you try to be too ambitious by over-promising and under-delivering on your orders. Too many companies are like that. We don't want to be those companies. We just want to be good at what we do.
90+ CRI Nichia boards. One with more red/deep red/far red, one with more UVA/near UV.
