viredd your personal attack on gov pensions is bs. im a gov employee and i bust ass to earn my money and my pension. i dont know where you live but cities need an infistructure . dont blame me or the cops or the sewer guys for making sure your life functions easily. yes we should get paid good for doing a good job

I respect and appreciate your service, rezo ... I truly do. But here in California, the government unions have advanced the servicing of the taxpayer as a bull services a cow.
Did you read my entire post regarding government employee pensions? There are cities already filing for bankruptcy due to firemen making over $200,000 per year.

How much is enough? How much will the taxpayer be willing to spend for government services before they just throw up their hands and execute another Prop. 13 type of tax revolt?
The State of California is facing a seven Billion-dollar deficit. Because the states can't just print money like the feds can, the governor is on his knees begging for a seven billion-dollar loan from the feds. Has anyone pointed out that California doesn't have a budget problem, and that indeed, we have a spending problem?
The State of Nevada faced a one billion-dollar deficit. Their governor refused to sign any tax increases to close the gap and insisted on spending cuts instead. The Nevada State Legislature proposed a ten percent, across the board spending cut to close the budget gap. They did and the budget is balanced. California could do the same ... but won't.
Another taxpayer revolt is in the offing in California. We can start with a 10% cut in pay for every government employee in California. That, of course, would include the governor and those in the California State Legislature as well.

it doesnt matter what money we use.. since the beginning of specialization of work and technology, creation of surplus birthed currency. currency has been in the form of sea shells, bones, salt, bronze, gold etc.. since the birth of currency there have been those who use its exploits to gain power over people. since currency began, it has enslaved us in one form or another..
power does not need money, but money creates power, and power over money creates more power..
currency, or any commodity for that matter is supposed to be valued in regards to its scarcity. something like gold or silver, for the most part cannot be just taken out of a tree or found sitting on the ground. it takes a good amount of effort to get out of the ground and put to use. but gold in itself is not a valuable commodity except for the fact that those in power have been telling us it is valuble for the last few thousand years, but what good is gold in our every day lives?
same thing with this paper currency, it is only valuble because those in power have told us it is of value. the difference is it takes no real effort to create more of it, just some paper with ink. the more you print, the less scare it is, the less valuable it is. once this currency loses value, a new one will be issued in just as has happend since the beginning of surplus.
i know im all high and this is kinda just random info but the point is that we cannot escape money no matter how hard we try, the only thing we can do is use the natural balance of the system to keep our goods of value...
also just a little food for thought, oil is basically the currency of the world now a days, the gold of old if you will.. it is used in just about every item you can think of, plastics, rubber, clothing, manufacturing, food processing, fuel, etc.. now oil is VALUED in the dollar on the foreign markets, which means that if the oil is gold, then the dollar is the new gold standard... following me?
this means that on the global economy the dollar is a commodoty that is used as a buffer against inflation in other nations currency. this is one of the reasons why when the dollar does bad, other nations also do bad because they hold large stakes in american debt in the forms of tbills and dollar reserves.. for instance china holds about three trillion dollars worth of american currency soley in the form of tbills. the middle east holds about 2.5 trillion dollars... this goes back to something i was talking about earlier, sending ameros over to relive these countries of their debt from the dollar..
out with the old, in with the new... theres a crash course in global economics, now get ready for a true global economy lol

But flo, government is the one that has taken it upon itself to do our worrying for other people for us. We no longer have to worry about other people that's why we pay taxes.you are one ignorantarent you? do you not understand that the REASON we are in this mess in the first place is because everyone worries about themselves, when they are gonna get that new car, those new gucci boots, that bigger house... me me me, fuck my neighbor fuck everyone else i gotta get mine. fuck tax cuts for the rich fuck programs for the poor give me tax cuts... all these "special intrest groups" lobbying for everyone to get there way and when everyone gets their way everybody suffers.. where as if we did what was best for our country as a whole everyone would suffer in different areas, but we wouldnt be in the position we are in now.

Of course, everyone with half a brain will admit that the problem is government ,because it has slowly eroded our sense of community, and sense of wanting to further our states.
No, this union was in much better shape when everyone viewed themselves as being citizens of their separate states, because then they saw it as their duty to ensure that the states were the ones that had the power, and that the power of the federal government was minimized.
I wonder what would have happened if the United States had stayed under the Articles of Confederation.

Solution to all this contry's problems:
Due to the enormous financial disaster, this has to happen. It will miraculously fix all our problems.
Starting tomorrow, legalize, regulate and tax the biggest cash crop in the US. Have the government grow it and allow Phillip Morris to roll it up and distribute it. Billions of dollars would flow into the government coffers and the amount of people in prison would diminish greatly which would take away a huge portion of the expenses that each state has to pay for that nonsense.

Lol, one would imagine that after the disaster that was prohibition government would have learned its lesson and stopped trying to criminalize things, but I really doubt that the government (even if Obama is elected) is going to ever see fit to lift the restriction on hemp, which is stupid.

It really is a damn shame that the government saw fit to criminalize something so useful all because of corrupt corporate interests.
