Need really fast help with my temp/light problem

Hi Guys!

I hope that I can get some help in my first grow.

I bought my grow setup with following inside:

- 1.2x1.2x2m tent
- Carbon filter fan kit 4''
- 4 breathable 16L root nurse pots
- 600w Lumii Black Light kit
- Canna coco natural
- Canna a+b

I have already planted 4 seeds, 2x white widow, 1x amnesia haze, 1x Skunk XL and they are already seedlings about 3cm long.

I ordered few more things which I am waiting for ph meter, and 2x 6'' fans for air circulation. Fans I will receive today.

The most important thing that I worry about is temperature, it is around 37c inside the tent, when light is running is literally really hot in the grow tent so I think is too hot and 4'' fan that is connected to carbon filter is not really doing the job.

Do you think that 2x 6'' normal fans will help ? At the moment my budget is really low so cannot buy some big expensive fans.

Also tent is in small room and there is no way to get the air out to other room or outside.

How much more I will have to spend to get it cooled down? Are there any old school methods? Ice in the bucket or cold water?

I dont want my babies to fry.

I hope you can guys help me.

Looking forward to your replies !

No.

If you don't want to take the tent out the closet then take the door off and put a new one on that you can cut a proper hole through to vent the heat out of. When you move put the original door back on.

Adding an air cooled hood will help but only if you vent out of the closet.

I have been able to keep temps at 8o degrees in a closed 4x4 with a bat wing by running a 4in flex duct to the light and drawing air over it. I used a cheap 6in inline fan and a reducer outside of the tent dumping the air into the room... put it on a timer to run the same time schedule as your light. Also, for air exchange, run the fan periodically through the dark cycle too. If the room is really small and still heats up too much then dump the air out of a window. Or go and get an air cooled hood. It worked for me and that was late summer. But don't draw air directly from outside. Spider mites and other nasty things are floating in the air. And the temperature fluctuations can get to big. So filter it with a filter first or just draw from your house.
Hope that helps. It worked for me. (:

Hi!

Have you got any pictures of how is your tent looking inside all setup and outside?

If it's just a white ceiling cut the hole and patch when you leave it will be a 20$ diy job to patch and paint

I’m just going to chirp in,

Open the vents on the top your tents let the hot out. Put your 6 inch fans in the holes at the bottom of the tent. Push the air in the bottom and out the top. To get by, open the door of the tent and just leave it open. That will let the heat out. It will be bright in the room! Open a window.

Here is a way to achieve the optimal air flow: take a burning incense stick and watch the smoke. Move the stick near openings and places with flow. You can see what’s flowing and where you need to move some things around.

I only have 4inch fan at the moment, so I moved tent to the room when I sleep so it is by the window. Fan is standing next to window and blowing cold air in at the bottom of the tent through duct pipe. What should be my next step? Do I have to buy next fan but bigger size ? Or invest in something else?

Guys I really appreciate the help.

I'm sorry, I dont believe I do.but I will look through my photos later. I am in a walled room now. And it is set up much differently than that one was. What is the temp of the room you have your tent running in?

Few things you can try.

Lights on at night. Maybe put a fan in one of the bottom vents bringing room temp air back into the tent?

I one time had to buy a styrofoam cooler and cut a hole in the side and attach ducting to a fan in my bottom vent. I would freeze 4L water jugs and put them in the cooler. I was able to drop a few degrees without running an AC.

you should try a miniature dehumidifier. They are pretty inexpensive for small areas like you have. If you put in some extra work like Ice each day you will probably have an optimal temp.

Ok thats a start,is your house ,room hot without the tent?Hot air rises so u want to suck heat out at the top. This will suck cooler air from the bottom.

House is around 26c. After moving the tent temp went down from 39-40 to 35c.

So first I was trying to blow cold air inside the tent with 1 fan that I got but this morning Im switched to sucking from the top and will see if temp will change.

What is the most important thing to buy next? Next fan? Humidifier?
