The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

So I noticed my cool mist is slapping right into the boards occasionally. Like not a direct steam but some hits em as it rises ya know. My question is, is this gonna harm then over time? Should I get the acrylic covers they make for em? If so will they affect the quality of light?

If your water is heavy in calcium it could leave deposits. Can’t you direct the mist somehow? There should be enough air circulation if your tent so that the mist can’t even reach the light.

I wanna correct myself on th highlights: istated theyre about 1.4 in diode count compared to qb288, theyre actually 1.56: 450 diodes and not 400 as i thought. Id support them even more now.

They do look sexy
Indeed they are. Compared to hlg especially. Its nice to see what is happening: everyone competing with everyone: hlg/high lights/a
China boards/cutter they all have products that compete with eachother now, not just between China and forum trusted guys. I think more and more this is a game of leveraging diode count/cheapo boards and special top of the line boards. To each their own. Im trying out the blux strips next, leaving place to add some spectrums. After seeing my grows last video (and cobshops new lights) im feeling that running your diodes as soft as can be is the ticket: hlg and a load of competitors running their diodes more or less the same (around .4w per diode) all had a fair bit of light loss in 6000 hours. My guess is running them less than .1 will work better in the long run. Less heat in the diode should be a winner. Just like we allways known pretty much.

Yeah I’m seeing the same trend as well, next run I’m going to be adding 3 more boards for a total of 9. Same 240w driver but powering 3 boards instead of 2. I’d keep the drivers at about 200w with a .2w diode usage. Leaves me enough space to add other spectrums in as well. The strips are nice cause they’re easy to install but take up an unnecessary amount of space. I’m going to take em out next run and use star boards and place the leds where I want.

What would people prefer for 4x4 tent.. 480w or 2 240w boards? at 480w model driver wouldnt be at top of leds so much.. and I'm looking for qeeklight 2020 monster board with all those fancy bluetooths.. so is it trustworthy company or should I stick with kingbrite and meijiu? Thx for answers I'm changing from hps after 10 years :D
I think 2x320w fixtures would cover way better. Geeklights are nice ,but a little more pricey. I like Meijiu for service and options. Their heat sinks are 15mm 50% thicker than king bright or Geek light. I paid 175 plus shipping for the 320W kit. That's with the 301h and 660 Epi stars. So cheap I bought 3 for a 4x4 to dim them down.

Nice! Any chance you could get a pic of them set up in your tent?

Keep me in mind lol. I just built a 6 board set up for my 4x4 but I’m already planning on adding 3 more boards for even better spread.

Does anyone know of any better alternatives to the rope pulleys that everyone uses? I have 4 1/8” supporting my fixture but I would like to downsize to two of the but still retain the easy adjustability. I’ve seen 1/4” versions of rope pulleys but have also heard that they’ve been know to fail. Anyone else hear this?

Anyone using the 650w ETLs from meiju. Their light spread seems to much better than all of the others. May be a little pricier but in the budget. Thinking of getting a few of these for 4x4 tents
