I never found the article I was looking for, you can hit up most fem breeders and they can give you the skinny on it. It's fairly common knowledge among the fem guys.you said you had some links about this?

Yes I know the fem breeders grow fire but that doesn't mean they know what they are talking about.I never found the article I was looking for, you can hit up most fem breeders and they can give you the skinny on it. It's fairly common knowledge among the fem guys.
Talk to some people that are doing this and running large numbers of fems. It's far from speculation when someone who only does fems is seeing this.Yes I know the fem breeders grow fire but that doesn't mean they know what they are talking about.
Without a real genetic test it's impossible to tell if it's an XY male from contamination or a XX female that is just expressing staminate flowers. Females can spontaneously produce some staminate flowers and females sprayed with STS can express all staminate flowers. I don't doubt that a female can express all staminate flowers spontaneously without grower intervention if the conditions, internal and external, are right.
Next time you find a "male" in your fem pack, send it to Phylos or other lab that does Cannabis sexing. If you know anyone who has done that and posted the results I'd be interested in taking a look! Otherwise it's all a bunch of speculation.
[EDIT: mixed up pistilate and staminate]
Only doing fems means they only intend to do fems. It is probably harder to get bugs than pollen cross contamination if these breeders are as diligent as you give them credit for. Not trying to start an argument, just pointing out the basics. Pollen is airborne, not as simple as washing and quarantining clones. In theory, never knowing bugs even exist in your garden is much more likely than never having a stray grain of pollen. This all is based on the thought that breeding fems exclusively is great, but that same breeder is obviously growing Regs also. I’ve had plenty of males get rootbound and drop pollen in veg off a lower branch way in the back and never noticed until it was too late. Iv’e has plenty of unintentional reg bag seeds, and I’m from from scale some of these guys have going.Talk to some people that are doing this and running large numbers of fems. You gotta remember we're dealing with a dioecious plant.
I get ya, and I don't doubt there is cross pollination happening on accident. If a bunch of males pop out of a fem line then someone screwed up, lol. But if one is reported on a line, this could very well be that anomaly. Seems more logical than assuming 1 tiny grain of stray pollen made it into someone's op, especially if they're not working reg lines.Only doing fems means they only intend to do fems. K bra, you're right and I'm wrong...... Feel better? I'm not here to argue. I like to learn and share info. If you can't accept the info idk what to tell ya.You have to do a genetic test. If an XX plant doesn't produce ethylene for whatever reason then it will make staminate flowers. If people aren't having those "males" popping up in fem packs tested then it is indeed speculation as to what is going on.
Did you pay $500 for a 6 pack of the Hierloom Afghani S1s cuz that's what he is charging now. Is the same strain you are referring to in your post? Just curious thanks for your time braWell, I had grabbed a pack of the roadkill Afghani S1's, and was vegging them, but unfortunately my grow was ruined by the lava flow we are having out here.
All I can say is, they were some of the best plants I had in veg!!!!
They all had a slight mutation, leaf variegation, like chem D, but grew super healthy.
Of the three I had going, one was skunky spicy, one was roadkill, and one was the most amazing smelling plant of all time!!!
The smell coming from the third one was the sweetest skunk bud period!! It was I identical to two strains from my past. One was the original kind bud, and the other was one of the best Hawaiian strains from Kaua'i.
When I say sweet skunk, I don't mean Amsterdam sweet skunk, I mean a sweet super dank skunk bud!!!
They were just out into flower when the lava hit us, so I am super bummed, because those were going to be some of the best medicine I might have come across in 20+ years!!!
There’s 2 threads with the same name. You posted in the other one.In fact all grow pics are gone? I know riot has haters but this seems odd
Yea. He made a thread and reviewed it. Says it's legit so I bought some last year too.
