Just me, managing to abuse another plant.. any advice before I kill another?

So, I got some excellent advice on getting my 7 week old plant coming around again (thank you!) just in time for me to ask for help with my 2 week old seedling.

Started it in rockwool and moved it to a small DWC where it resides near my other sad plant.

It's an auto, and since I was inpatient with its roots getting through the net pot and uncomfortable with top feeding (and potentially overwatering), I cut off most of the rockwool and fed the roots through the pot and to the water.

It's fed RO water, general hydroponics trio at 1/4 strength, cal/mag, and southern ag hydro guard. It's under a 300w blurple until my new light arrives. Temps are about 80, RH about 55 (although my humidifier messed up and stopped overnight and RH fell to 20%). PH drifted up to 6.5 once, but I've been keeping it closer to 5.8-6.2 if I can.

Looking back, the first week I had REALLY low nutrients and before I cut off the rockwool and fed the roots through the net pot, I think I was overwatering it. So, those things and the time with low RH are probably the problem?

Whatcha think?

All you need to do is wait. Keep the light on it. Keep the water clean. Change it every week. It will come out of it. It's root system is shocked from being surrounded by water for too long. They have no will to stretch out. That's why I never use rockwool anymore

So glad to hear the other one is doing better!
Sounds like youve done everything right.
When did you transplant? They can look sad for a couple days at first.
New growth still looks pretty green so I agree with airwalker.
Report back in 24 hours if it's been transplanted in the last 48.
Some ppl might say it's a little warm, but I haven't had any issues with seedlings above 80F

Thank you! It is looking a little better today. The root that I fed down through the net pot is growing and looking great. Even though it set it back a bit, I'm glad I did it because I have a feeling I would have drown it and done it more harm by top feeding the rockwool.

Yes, the bigger one is definitely looking better! The new growth is nice and dark. I still have the dead leaves on it that I'm not sure what to do about. Some of them, I've removed the entire fan leaves but only the edges are crispy, so I'm debating trimming back the dead stuff.

And the little guy is looking better. The root is getting longer and looking great!

awesome, just keep doing what youre doing and check back if you need anything else.
Once its damaged it wont heal up. You can just cut any damaged leaves off and consider it some defoliation. I try to get rid of damaged ones so I know for sure if new damage starts popping up.

Thank you! Hoping I can actually finish a grow without killing it! Haha! Sounds good. I was afraid to defoliate too heavily considering the extent of the damage and it being an auto flower but it's not like those leaves are doing any good anyhow!

I'm actually getting 30-some seeds tomorrow from seedsman that I won! I picked all fem photos and I can't wait to try one. I thought going into this that "auto" sounded easier but I've read that they can be pickier and much less forgiving, so I think I'll try a photo next.

Youre paying attention to the plants and asking for direction when youre unsure. My only hope is youre absorbing the info and learning and not just doing what we tell you to lol.
Very nice! thatll give you some room to play with some stuff without feeling so guilty about wasting money if you do kill one.
I have not tried any autos yet because I read a lot of the same when I started. That it can be a bit of a crap shoot sometimes on how picky they can be. I am also weary of doing any normal seeds as a main grow for a while. Wasting months growing out males just to chop them down kinda suckssss.

I'm trying! I spend a lot of time reading other threads on here, watching YouTube videos and reading tutorials. Hopefully something will sink in. I've grown lettuce and herbs hydroponically for a while and figured since I have a good handle on that, this would be easier!
But yeah, I'm excited. The worst part for me when I kill one is the time wasted more than the money at this point. Not that I enjoy wasting seeds.. I just get really pissed at the time I lost!

I had a hernia repaired yesterday. Im laid up in bed on edibles and narcos
so yeah.. quite bored and chatty trying to keep my mind off the pain.
Hey man...I understand. I just commented because your post was not as focused as you usually are. I have a belly button hernia that'll need fixing...but right now it's not causing any problems. Drink lots of water...get well soon!

Really? I didn't even notice. It's a northern lights auto from seedsman.
I clicked on the shot on the right...
then use the little square with an arrow...that'll open it in new tab
and finally click on picture...that will give you max enlargement. That crystally white stuff on the leaves looks like small immature trichomes. Gonna be a killer plant...be sure to save her!

Yep I had an inguinal on the right side. Got mesh done with the robot and im still dying lol.
Tried playing some games, but chatting on here keeps my mind off it a little better. Its kinda killing me that I cant get down the stairs to admire my own ladies this week so I gotta live vicariously through other growers.
Plus helping makes me feel good too., was really happy we got @Pyreonfire other plant going well again.

Shit man...you can't walk!? But of course stupid me...too much risk of stirring things up down there. Don't need any post op complications. One thing about the hip surgery I'm facing is that recovery is fairly easy. You have full hip strength right away. You just can't bend too far beyond 90 degrees to risk dislocation. Until all the tendons and other stuff they cut returns to more normal. My Doc is cool...he gave me a cortisone injection to get me by for awhile so I can have better weather to deal with. Rains like crazy all winter here on the coast.
Bet your plants are fine...

The first week or so is pretty rough while the tissue heals into the mesh, but I should be able to get back to most of my normal moving around by then. Im pretty much just between the bed and the bathroom right now, it takes most of what I have just to get up to do that. Wife waiting on my every other need for a few days until I can start to get around a bit better. If it wasnt down a full flight of steps id be able to at least look at it lol. They just started budding over the weekend so im anxious to watch them grow as always.
Got everything changed out and topped off on sunday to make sure it was all balanced and going well. Have the wife giving me am and pm meter readings and its stayed stable so far. I totally forgot I have a camera could have put in there

very good! so what EC is the big one at now? and it's dropping daily?

and yeah, the damaged leaves won't become healthy again. i wouldn't cut them off. if they aren't being used by the plant, they will die and fall off on their own. the undamaged parts might still be used for photosynthesis although less than a healthy leaf.

Ahh! I bet it's hard to be away! I'm kept away by my little munchkins who keep me busy. I homeschool the stinkers, so they're always on my heals. Right now I'm painting pine wood derby race cars, haha! The fun never ends!

I'll have to grab a current reading after my kids are in bed. Right now, it's staying steady but the water is going down. I added another gallon yesterday and added a bit of ph up today to move it closer to 6.5 (it'll drop over the next few days) so I don't have a baseline from the changes today. The new growth looks nice a green... roots even look brighter, if that makes any sense.
