Moving plants outdoors for 4/20 after almost ten weeks from germination on 24 hour light cycle

So I started germinating 5 northern lights(yesterday)they’re going to go in my small pots that are about 9 inches tall 5 inches wide under t5 or and 600 hps, then I’m thinking 5, 7 or ten gallon hard pots that I will buy that will veg inside for 10 weeks or so. My worry is that my plants will start re vegging. Seriously worried (since I’ve unfurtunateltley discovered this topic). Was planning on chopping Down after 7-10 weeks outside. the area is outside Chicago.

Any tips really for maximizing potential would be great I’m using ocean forest soil and I’m thinking of ordering fox farm trio nutes

Hi Properbodydotcom. I think the weather in your area is very cold this time of year. I think that it depends on how much yield you want. but veg indoors a little longer ,as far as the ffof soil and their line of nutes they are good . just a tip , keep your soil healthy and happy and the plants will do their job. and don't forget the silica for optimal root health.

The problem with putting mature plants outside early is they may begin to flower. Then they will go through a reveg as the days extend. You might need some supplemental lighting outdoors to prevent flowering until the days are long enough.

Did you check the outdoor forum?

Supplemental lighting until the days get long enough. Using a timer to turn on early and then shut off the the sun comes out. Take that hps and have it outside in the backyard with your plants. People will think it’s a street light.

I saw a clip from subcool where he said you only need about an hour of light, from like 10-11. Nobody will think anything of it if it doesn't stay on all night.

I have a 4”11 by 2”7 tent and 4•4 tent maybe I’ll tust grow them indoors completely. I was hopping to get a better yield by putting them outside in the sunny spot in my back yard.

I could wait to put them outside at a better time. When would you pop them outside to flower if we’re doing a long veg?

I think it’s going to end up that the question is ‘in your area, is there 2 months of time when the day light is less than 12hr a day and also is the temperature above 10c during those months’. If not, you might have to practice light deprivation techniques. And this would be cheaper than using a light instead.

people seem to plant medium sized plants outdoors after growing indoors on 247 light without have issues are the chances really that high of not flowering properly in late April or maybe, some on another post said they put them out in June

Where your at they will go straight to flower if you can keep from freezing, then late may will reveg forget it!

Mid late may i put mine out some yrs early june.
