ok.. so i am growing a white widow in coco.. and a Laughing buddha in DWC.. same nutes, same ph which is 6.1 the WW is happy as hell.. the buddha looks like it hates life. which sucks since it's the only strain i have had a hardon to grow..
Nutes are jacks at 4 gallons 12g/6g/3g which is a bit under full dosage, and lighton cal since i use tap water. the water starts at 100ppm and ends at 800ppm.

I have no idea why this plant is this unhappy.. Plenty of air in the water.. and both potted the same day.

P.S. after going and looking the WW has some weird curling at the base of it's fan leaves also.. not sure where i'm messing these up.

Why is there water on a leaf?? Are DWC plant's roots in the water? Why not do a Coco Rescue looks like you are doing well with Coco although I cut the fine pith 50% with Xlg Perlite.

I had just moved it and was changing water and such, i probably had some on my hand and didn't notice it on the plant is all. Going to cut nutes in half and give it a day or two.. i have 4 more seeds if i have to start over.. just annoying :)

Different mediums and strains with the same nutes wont always work out.
Imo cut the str in half in the DWC and give it a couple days and see what it does.
No idea why i didn't think of going that last night... will water it down some when i get home tonight, thanks.

Are the roots below the pot. When I ran NFT rails I had to add top feed lines until my roots went well below the hydroton touching liquid in the rail. Otherwise my plants were slow and looked miserable.I think the bubbling in DWC creates an aerosol but how much?

Yeah it has like 12" long roots already.. thanks tribus :) Been doing some reasearch this morning and it looks like nitrogen toxicity which would also explain the dark green, i'm going to swap out half it's water tonight to drop the ppm and PH it and hope it picks up.

P.S. thanks btw..

I don't like topping that low just give her time I would have to guess
The topped one is amazingly healthy and happy.. it's the other one that's screwed:) and i'm topping like that to do mainlining.. so far it's going well.

and rn she would need a max 150ppm they don't need 800 ppm of food that small
Yeah. i dropped it to 400 last night, i'm just done with DWC.. coco is so much easier for some reason when they should be about the same.

P.S. the topped one is hopefully going to end up like in this thread.

R/dwc has a much steeper learning curve than it sounds like. A lot of the places that talk about it make it sound like you can just drop some air stones in a bucket and you're going to grow amazing bud, but theres a lot of little attention to detail things. My first rdwc setup failed miserably and I had to rebuild nearly the whole thing. Once its dialed in and you can just go through the motions, it is actually very easy and doesnt require much effort to maintain.
I think keeping them both in the same medium for now is a good idea, but if you're interested in dwc, keep playing with a bucket off on the side some imo.

Well.. it's not that hard.. i have been doing it for a year but it seems when shit goes bad it's more of a pain.. plus i honestly don't see much faster growth than in coco.. so meh.. no big thing. :) Was mainly a learning experience anyway.

Yeah that's what I mean I guess lol. If you're not dialed in stuff can go wrong fast. I dont think it's any more difficult than any other method, just less forgiving. At the same time, you see changes very quickly and are able to correct sooner.

Yeah i work 12-14 hours every day... so can't really be one top of it as much as i should be... i might just give it straight water for a day then drop it to low nutes for a bit.

Coming back well.. have some crazy good root growth at the moment. Tribus seems to actually be working. Not sure how im gonna train this one.. my DWC lids have no decent way to tie down to :(

Hey Ice,
That's an improvement...very dark still. On your first shot...the WW...looked a little Mg deficient to me. I know you're already giving some...but Widows are serious Mg hogs. Grew that strain straight for two years.
