How would you use these two tents?

The 4 x 2 with the T5 for veg assuming its a 4 ft T5.
The 4 x 4 with the 600 watt HPS for flower.

That's the exact setup I run. My T5 is a 4 bulb 54 watt HO fixture for a total of 216 watts. The good thing about the 4 ft fixtures is they go the length of the tent. You can easily veg 5 plants in the 2 x 4 and then move them to the 4 x 4 after vegging a few weeks.

Or you could just veg them in the 4 x 4 and skip the 2 x 4. You really don't need both tents for 5 plants. Most newer ballasts can run both MH and HPS bulbs. If yours can do that then get a MH bulb and just rock the 4x4 for veg and flower. MH for veg and HPS for flower. That's depending on whether your ballast allows running both bulbs. Even better if you have a dimmable ballast and can turn it down to 400 watts which would be fine for veg and save on power. Mine does 600/400/250. I'm kicking myself for not getting the 1000/750/600 dimmable because I always run my 600 dimmable at 600 and it would be nice to run 1000 in the winter when I don't have to worry about the heat.

4'11" x 2'7" for veg and t5 light, 4 x4 for flower with 600hps
But why waste space and consume extra hydro in his house if he is only allowed 5 plants?
Just seems silly to me, stick with the 4x4 and do both veg and flowering in there.
Or use the 4x4 on 3 photoperiods and the smaller tent on a couple autos, at least that way you can harvest every 3 months or so.

All the Best!

Except you can start your next grow when the flower tent is at week 6 or so. Cuts your total harvest time in about half.

I do like the idea of the photo and auto tent

Guys, he only wants to do 5 plants maximum at a time due to legal concerns. That being said, he can't start a veg tent when you currently has 5 plants in flower. Better off just to do veg and flower in same tent, leave the other tent for drying lol.
