Canopy Density

Hello,

This is my first grow and I am getting ready to flip to flower and I have a few questions. I am using a trellis with 3 1/2" squares. Should I thin out this canopy? Is there a rule of thumb I can follow to know how many tops I should go with? How does the number of colas affect yield? Do lots of smaller colas vs fewer larger colas = Same yield overall?

Canopy looks good to me. Disclaimer: I have about 4 grows under my belt. 2 soil; 2 hydro.

You should have no yield penalty, and possibly a benefit, from having many incipient colas.

Simple thing to remember about training into a SCROG.


60-75% fill the scrog in veg.
Flip to 12/12. Then continue to fill the scrog holes.

anything under the screen, remove it!

Looks great to me and I've done dozens of ScroGs. Have you cleaned out most of the small stuff under the screen?

You ought to pull a half lb off it at least.

Yes, I stripped everything to the bottom side of the SCROG.
