Trichomes not turning amber.

I’m 2 weeks past the advertised grow time one this auto and I’m not really seeing many trichomes go amber. The leaves up top have started to yellow as I have recently lowered the EC down to .45 in prep for a flush but I’m not seeing much yellowing from the bottom up. What’s the deal? Should I just harvest it or is it normal for a auto to go way past the advertised grow time? I’m in a 3 gal. fabric pot with a coco and perlite mix. I started with using organic dry amendments from the started but was having all sorts of nutrients issues so I just started using GH trio on week 9, watering everyday with runoff.

I've waited ages for amber but it never happens to more than maybe 1% on any plants I've grown so I start chopping the big colas off once they are mostly cloudy. Then I let the lower ones ripen for another 10 days or more. Not a problem as I have arthritis bad in my hands so just do a bowl of buds every night over a couple of weeks. Did some last night and not sure if I'm up to doing any tonight.

Those tops of yours seem to have lots of fresh looking white hairs so I wouldn't be too quick to chop yet. And yes many plants take a lot longer to flower than advertized and it could just be the particular pheno that plant is too.

Worse that happens is you end up with a bit more pot. :)

If you've waited 2 weeks past their date I would say you have a week left. Their date is under the absolutely best conditions with co2 etc. You'll find that once you are cloning from a mature plant you can shave a week of off that time.

Yeah, they definitely keep growing more white pistols. I’ve actually been wanting to harvest the bigger top buds first while letting the lower buds grow some more. How do you go about timing the flush when doing that method?

Same happened to me this last grow, on all 8 plants, 2 different strains, they just went cloudy and never turned amber, not even on the sugar leaves. Kinda made the flowers look white, pretty cool

What flush? Flushing doesn't do anything but wash some nutes out of the pots. I just stop feeding base nutes and give them water with some Epsom Salts for extra sulphur and maybe a bit of K the last couple weeks.

If you've been feeding heavy up to the 7th week you might want to wash some nutes out of the pot but otherwise I just leave them alone.

Yeah, I didn’t mean like flushing with a flushing agent or anything. I just meant like tapering off the base nutes until I’m just giving it plain water for a few days with some cal/mag.

Flushing will do nothing at this stage ... plain watering as needed only. Flowers will begin to harden off. Some strains don’t amber until after harvest as it decays . Some strains also can be mature with some pistils still visible.

Scope those buds .... not just one . Look at calyx , not leaf. You are very close , “ maybe “ a week .
Auto Trick : .... Drop your auto cycle to 12/12 ( like a reg ) .... plant will force finish as dark is extended.

Unfortunately I have my first DWC going on in the same space so that’s not possible. I’ll start with plain water today and start harvesting the top buds weekend, thanks. Here’s a current bud picture.....

Is that a no no?
I just put one of my girls into darkness for the next 48 hours. You can increase your THC by giving them a period of darkness before harvest. Here’s a recap of the YouTube test results based on different periods of darkness before harvest.

I usually give them three days dark before chop. I always make sure the medium is nice and dry before dark time too
