yes ... I believe it’s on the bag too ...“Tea“ from FFOF? Could you elaborate on that? I top dress with the FFOF, but never heard of a tea with it....Thanks!

Yes! Thank youBeautiful green plants ! This why i looked at JUST the medium doing the work NO artificial help in feed. Look at those fibrous stalks ! I think you probably will agree its a hell of alot easier to ammend soil as needed over measuring bottles and figuring out nute ratios. Keeping things simple.
Thank you, I’ll be giving it a try!yes ... I believe it’s on the bag too ...

Be very wary of softened water. It is often full of sodium. Cannabis hates sodium.Thank you for this guide. I wish I had found it a week sooner! Already started my autos in solo cups but going to adopt into your process after the transplant.
i have a question: You mention PH on water being critical. I have well water that is softened, and it’s PHing above 7.0. (I have a good meter coming tomorrow; but for now only have drops that suggest it’s probably over 7.5)
Do you recommend anything in particular for PH down? I’ve read everything from citric acid to sulfuric acid and just want to be sure I’m going the right route. I have a local hydro place that sells PH down — any harm going that route?
thanks again! You have given me a ton of great advice both directly and indirectly.
Thanks. We Soften with salt pellets, as my area has extremely hard water. Am I better off using rainwater or store bought drinking water? Could also bypass the softener, but then that’s going to be the other end of the extreme. Lots of limestone and iron.Be very wary of softened water. It is often full of sodium. Cannabis hates sodium.
My recco is to get an RO filter. That gives you water if TDS zero. Then you can add and explore best nute combos.Thanks. We Soften with salt pellets, as my area has extremely hard water. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll keep reading about this. We had a water guy out a few weeks ago who was actually recommending an RO system, but I haven't settled on an implementation yet.My recco is to get an RO filter. That gives you water if TDS zero. Drinking water is all ver the pH map. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll keep reading about this. We had a water guy out a few weeks ago who was actually recommending an RO system, but I haven't settled on an implementation yet.
I just PH'ed some drinking water that I use for coffee. Way acidic lol. I'll try some direct from the well tomorrow and see what the baseline is at. At this point, I just need something I can sustain my seedlings on until I sort out the greater problem.
I’ve been using the citric acid for PH down, it works for me. I also have the Alaska that I ordered from eBay. The citric acid I found at the grocery store and the crystals are tiny compared to Alaska. I noticed that they both work very very well and you only need a few granules in my area. I suggest figuring out how much you need (by trial and error) because I would add a pinch at a time and needed to keep testing the water over and over before I finally got to the correct PH. I finally measured it out and found out that I need 1/16th of a teaspoon per gallon to get the PH to 6.5. So now I add the 1/16th of a teaspoon to my gallon water jug and it gets right to 6.5. Saved me a lot of time this wayThanks for the detailed write up, exactly what I was looking for.
I already have FFOF and HF, so I'll use the HF instead of the Stone, which I can't find locally.
For the PH down, can I use any Citric Acid if I can't find the Alaska locally, or should I just order the Alaska?
Thanks.
1/16 tsp per gal drops my well water to around 6.5 too, but everybody's water's different so it might take more or less.I’ve been using the citric acid for PH down, it works for me. If its food grade citric acid without any other crap in it, then it should be fine. That's good to know. The only Citric Acid I could find was the stuff in the canning section.
Awesome. Thanks! So, if I follow correctly:What I would do with the HF would be like what I do with EB Stone mix.
Infuse both bags separately with extra perlite ...
Layer the FFOF at bottom 1/3 container ...
Top fill with HF ( maybe adding EWC if you like ) . HF is a milder medium and will not hinder a seedling ( less burn ) .
This way you can see how this performs instead of combining both bags and maybe not liking it.
You will still be able to top dress as needed ( FFOF ) for duration of grow.
Both are ph about the same 6.3 .... I find raising ph to 6.5 -6.7 lessens issues with uptake.
pretty much ... but I say experiment . There is nothing wrong with tweaking mixes.Awesome. Thanks! So, if I follow correctly:
Bottom 1/3: (75%FFOF/25% Perilite)
Top 2/3: (75% Happy Frog/25% Perilite)
And then following up by topping with FFOF as things progress?
