PK booster vs flower hardener

Most P/K boosters are much higher in P than K which is fine in early flower thru the stretch but then it switches to a higher need for K than P and the hardeners should be leaning that way.

There isn't some specific time when a change should be made but leaning feedings to the plants stages can be a benefit.

That's because most are just a couple ounces of monopotassium phosphate diluted with water and sold for $20 a liter. You can buy 800 ounces / 50 pounds for $70.

Mono Potassium Phosphate 0-52-34

Most base nutrients will already have adequate amounts and no more is needed. But that doesn't keep the same nutrient company with trying to sell you another bottle of stuff. Can't blame them. They're in business to make money. But they're not getting any of mine. :bigjoint:

I got that from the nute pack I won from @AquaTerra last year. The Big Up is 0-52-34 and I used that early with this Hindu Kush I'm cropping now. I cut that off around week 6 and gave her the Rock Steady, 0-0-62 near the end. Some Big bud was tossed around here and there as well and I got no complaints with the buds I'm snipping now.

Not to say that anything stands out but I ain't bitching. The buds do seem to be more sugar leaf than buds this round but as I want oils more than budz I'm cool with that!

I'm only trimming the main tops and everything else gets a quick snip then into a can for the freezer for later processing into oils. My arthritis is so bad lately I can barely roll a cig much less trim for more than an hour at a time. My left eye gets twitching so bad I near go blind after an hour anyways. I'm gonna go get an electric wood chipper and screw this trimming BS pretty damn soon! No smilies here dude I'm f'n sick of this BS! Everything goes to oils anyways so WTF! Fresh harvest extracts are the way to go and I got that down. Smoking is for suckers who still haven't realized how valuable their lungs are yet. (hack, gasp, wheeze!). Tastes so good tho so I piped my O2 pump thru my water pipe to get the best of both worlds! lol Even my doc was impressed! ;)

The wife has being trying to hide it but her liver tumours are taking their toll so we need to up her doses of RSO right quick. Time to set up the still and cook out a couple gallons of naphtha. Got 3lbs of bud to strip not counting a few more of sugar trim in the freezer. No shortage of meds here.

Damn, sorry to hear of you and your wife's health issues. Man can do so much but he can't stop time or keep our fragile bodies from breaking down. Wishing you the best. :peace:

Do you get any issues from the dose of chloride in the Rock Steady?

I only used a small amount near the end of flowering so I wouldn't expect there to be any negative consequences. Most plants don't have any problems with chloride except at very high levels and a bit is needed anyways. When we first bought this place the previous owner was using potassium chloride in the water softener so he could water the garden with the softened tap water and they had a beautiful garden after years of use. I still have a bag of it here and may just use some in the garden. Haven't used the softener since a year after we moved in and that was almost 20 years ago.

Yeah I have always heard “chloride bad” but have no experience. Nice to get a data point.

Chloride is only bad if there is too much just like anything else. And there are different chlorides as well. Calcium. potassium, magnesium, etc....

I've been using chlorinated water for decades with no issue at all for watering plants. Chloramine as well. The levels present in tap water and nutrients has no negative effect on plant growth.
