The bluelab ph pen is fucking bullshit.

That said. Temperature is the number one interference in pH calibration. It does matter. Tricky little bastard - pH.

So I bought a bluelab pen a little over a week ago. I followed all the steps on bluelabs youtube page and website. I let it soak in their storage solution for 24 hours, I even use their brand of ph buffer.

So, calibrating time comes around and I put it in their ph 7.0. It starts off at 6.7 and them declines down to 6.2. I took it back to the hydro shop and they gave me a new one. I do the same thing, and the same thing happens AGAIN! Is it the storage solution? Who else here has a bluelab? I hear people swear by these things. Everyone that tells me about them says they come calibrated right out of the box. Then why don't they calibrate properly in 7.0? I've used plenty of other ph testers before, this is horse shit.

Having a nightmare, ph pens waste of time an money One Stop Hydro are a vucking nightmare smashing the probe to invalidate any warranty been on to bluelab hopefully UPS will get the blame an I1`ll get me money back sticking with indicator fluid all PH pens are unreliable and and overated

I've been using the same Bluelab for a couple years and it works just fine. pH pens are not a waste of time and money. Bluelab is a quality product and is used extensively in both personal and commercial growing because they are reliable. Improper storage is the number one reason that a decent pH probe goes bad. The cheap $15 ones are very unreliable and inaccurate but Bluelab is a good pH probe.

Same here. I've had my bl for 3 or 4 years. I bought an extra probe. I've never used it. I did buy a soil probe.

I don’t even own a pH pen any more. Just use the dropper and indicator solution.
As long as my colour is between the 5.5-6.5 marks I don’t worry too much. (Coco grower)

Me mates had one for over15 yr an mine lasted over 10 yr till batteries leaked, but all ph pens are a different one they are absolute shite and warranties from bluelab and their sellers are the same

Old Bluelab was the shit! First one lasted 5 years..Now 3 new units later I have to agree-they have gone to complete shit!..looking at an apera now

Any probes lifespan is 18mnths. Then you will experience less accurate, slower readings and drifting.
~100$ every year and a half isn't much of a big deal....
Phep4s and 5's from Hanna come with replaceable probes which cuts that cost in half. There's options.

I have a blue labs a hanna and one of those yellow ones they all sucked caused me problems i settled on using a chemical test kit for certainty.
