There's a reason the "lightly used' Platinum is for sale, eh?? I honestly don't know...I'm an old school HID guy, and that would be my vote.

I chose the wrong light at first. The platinum is however better than my phlizon even compared to the 1200 version.
I almost went for the platinum when looking to replace and then I got turned onto some articles from Prof Bugbee and his peers, cannot recall there names but both bugbee and another guy are on migro youtube videos, worth giving a watch.
With all that I know now which is admittedly not much, I would pick the HLG.

That Platinum, although being sold for EIGHTEEN HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS, has about $60 of materials in it? Would you believe that?
Yea That's pretty unbelievable but I don't doubt it. Sounds like HLG pretty unanimous. I thought maybe that platinum was a deal being it so expensive new. Ill Probably got with Bspec as it will be in veg and auto tent

B Spec is primarily for vegging.
If you're actually going to utilize the light for both veg and flower, straight 3000K with no added 660nm Red boards is much better a spectrum. Too much Blue, really prohibits your girls from blowing up.

Yeeeeesh, you could DIY 2 HLG 550s for that.
I will only use in 20 hr veg and auto tent, I always keeps a few autos going, currently they are under a 1000k kind led. I'm needing to add more light that tent pretty empty and dark atm

8x v1 board and 4x double heatsinks are $385. With RIU10 10% code.
4x XLG-240m driver for $170
around $100 for assembly/hanging parts.
Around $650 for the same output as 2x HLG 550 fixtures.
LMK if you want a parts list, I have amazon links for all the parts HLG provides in their kits.
Assembly is covered in the first part of this video. Its pretty simple.

At least my AGLEX has some big COB's on it lol, this looks like the AGLEX3000 without the COB's haha
My AGLEX is also only using the white cobs in my veg tent lol.

I havent looked into a source for heatsinks yet, maybe ill do that later.
Maybe Ill just bulk order some from china and sell them on ebay.
