Burn from lights?? Need input

Blue haze just starting to get going. I’ve kept the lights at same height since sprout. Noticed yellowing on a Monday so I fed is first feeding of nutes since it was gonna happen later in the week (feed on Wednesday’s) thinking it needed nitrogen. I checked on my plants Wednesday and the leaves were browning and crispy. Trimmed what was real bad. What do you think? I raised the lights a good ways when I noticed browning on Wednesday.

Less than a cap full per 16oz water ph to 6.5. My purple haze didn’t have any issue. I’d say a full cap is a tspoon

They were pretty close. Not touching but maybe 3 inches

I did spay the foliage with water by accident trying to moisten the soil. Some say that the water molecules amplify the light.

Thats not light burn, the upper leaves aren't effected.

I suggest checking the pH of the medium. It's likely too low and could be corrected.

Ok I’ll check the PH of my water. Usually it sits around 6.5-6.7 but I’ll check run off PH. Purple haze is growing In same soil and she’s flourishing. But I know each strain is different.

I Check the run off. I have been for three years now. I get that read says runoff is inaccurate but I really am tired of buying things. Would I need one per plant?

One meter will check all your plants. Take care of it and it will last. Never let the probe dry out and make sure to store it in the KCL solution at all times. Always pre-poke the hole so as not to damage the probe, the Apera is very sensitive to this and they sell a special stick to make the hole, should come with the meter IMO. The bluelab meter you can use the probe cover to make the hole, then insert the probe. Very dry medium will not give an accurate reading.

Over $100... I’ll take my chances. If you need wet soil for a reading then I feel that checking the run off is close enough.

I think I payed 110 a tool like this is essential for really nailing ph problems but up to u everyone thinks differant

Just curious if you guys have compared results to a cheap one like this? I'm not sure you could trust the reading but maybe it would tell you what direction you need to go.

Not reliable, worse than no meter IMO. I have seen them read exactly opposite of what it really is, most likely to send you down the wrong path making things worse. Good for moisture readings only.

The only cheap solution that will ballpark things is the chemical soil pH test kits but thats a PITA to get soil from deeper than maybe an inch and I find them hard to read.

aka its better to just get the bluelab super simple. takes no time to learn how to use it and its very accurate takes a min in the soil to get to around what it should say
