During the pox interview he wanted to know about his ratings..... He still shaking people's hands with his tiny hands.... I hope he doesn't come down with something. He's a fine specimen...

A good assessment of what is really important in the data breakdown, there's been some widely varying reports of the overall mortality rate, especially in countries with good medical care systems. The public will focus on the death rate, but the real focus should be on the hospitalization rate and trying to control the spread through public health measures and that requires testing, hence the main issue.

They should sort out the strain issue and I'm sure they are gonna take it into account in data analysis, though I doubt the tests currently used can differentiate between strains. As for supplements I generally agree, but I've presented good evidence on vitamin D and its it efficacy in mitigating the worst effects of this illness, many older adults are deficient in vitamin D. As for zinc, there is not so much evidence, but it's a reasonable bet with no downside for an older adult.

I'm not sure South Korea would be a good model for the USA, Italy might be closer (or even Iran), Korea has a good healthcare system and have had an excellent response, America has a good healthcare system, but the response...

The most important number is the one that affects ourselves, friends and family, it will be a crapshoot of survival for many.

I've read about it in the media and there is a medical video I posted #31 I think (posted on this thread), where an expert who is reviewing the ongoing situation talks about it and references the research. It's in an easily digested format and though the site is for doctors and medical students, the focus has been more general and educational for the public lately. It has the most reliable info I could find that is in a general format. The actual research is too esoteric to understand for most people without the training and context. Guys like Abandon are helpful here in interpreting the research for the rest of us, as are science reporters and the scientists themselves in interviews, where they speak in actual english!

Everything I’ve read says (from infectious disease experts) is that there is no actual proof it has mutated and I’ll go with that for now. I’m limited to what I can watch at home as I don’t have acces internet at my place (kind of in a dead zone, no pun intended), just phone data :(. I’ll watch the video at work.

If he got it and recovered he would become very dangerous when his own ass is no longer at risk. The rallies would start up again wherever he could twist local GOP arms enough to defy the local public health officials, probably even get a few of them fired during the crises. In the midst of a full blown epidemic the Trump rallies would be packed, the Captain's stats posted above illustrate this point about Trumpers.

Unfortunate that some actually believe their shit but seriously when you have turnips running the country things turn bad quickly. The lack of preparation and incompetence has been astounding, they even helped spread it to north America through negligence. Someone is deranged alright, but it's not those who oppose Trump and the Bullshit he stands for. I thought you were older and wiser than that, You might not like Justin, but at least he's a responsible adult who takes his job seriously, they are about to pay a horrible price for incompetent leadership in the states and it won't be long before it crosses the border in large numbers, it has already.

I laughed when I read about it because I thought "that's a small bit of fact holding up a large body of unknowns with a whopper of a conclusion layered on top". Perfect grist for the academic grant money mill. It might be true. Why don't we throw some money at it? (other than there might be better uses for it)
