Quick question-

I'm definitely a newb. First indoor grow. Had 3 reasonable outdoor grows. I haven't seen this before and it makes me a bit nervous. What is growing out of the end of my flowers? Day 39 of flowering on a AK/47 clone. There is GG4, GDP, Black Buddha, Super Kush in the same tent. None of them look to have these. Any help from a more seasoned grower would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!crap.jpg

That is a male flower. It appears open. That would mean pollen in your grow. If it's 1 or two pull them be vigilant in watching for others. Don't be surprised if you get some seeds. More than a couple and its a herm. Seed crop or start over. Be sure to clean your grow area and equipment before next run.

Thank you!!, I figured as much. Just needed to be sure.

Yep, it's a nanner. When I see them I chop the plants since I don't wanna take chances on pollination. I have a Sunset Sherbert clone that's really sensitive to getting nanners if I stress her out at all during flower.

Thank you PadawanWarrior,

Sadly this looks like the most productive plant in the batch. There are closed male flowers on 50% of the flower. Would it not be advisable to remove the male flowers, move the plant into another room and let it grow? I don't mind a few seeds. Or is that a recipe for disaster? I'm not using forced air in the house so I think it unlikely for pollen to get from the basement to up stairs? ???

What should I expect from the other 4 plants I'm leaving in the tent? I have looked closely and don't see any signs (don't forget I'm a newb) of seeds or male flowers on the rest of the crop. Looks like one or two males flowers opened up. I have plenty of fans in the tent so there is no lack of pollen circulation. Should I cut my losses and not fire up another HPS for this ak/47 herm. I don't have another truly sealed (as far as light goes) grow room but I do have a closet.... Wouldn't mind seeing it mature for a bit. Almost 40 days in.....

As far as it going hermi...
I found this plant really reacted to stress. When the others didn't. When I did anything to it it went limp. Did I stress it too much when I defoliated it a week ago? I'm not guessing it was getting light when it wasn't supposed to. I have a quality tent that I religiously check for leaks. I even hang a black cloth background sheet over the zippers during lights off. All vents are sealed for light. The other 4 look great, so far. Maybe the mother was 100 years old? I did get my clones from a crazy old weed lady. Any thoughts. Thanks for reading this far-

I just don't like to chance it, but if you can move it somewhere else away from the rest, than that works too.

The other 4 might be fine and might not have been pollinated. Sometimes the nanners pollen isn't viable, so you may be lucky. I wouldn't risk it though, but if you have an extra HPS for another room, I'd say go for it.

Some strains are really sensitive to stress like my Sunset Sherbert. I've actually chopped it at day 28 before when I saw nanners. And it turned out to be my wife's favorite plant so far. She doesn't like the heavy high, so it's not all bad if I have to chop one a bit early. I've learned not to mess with her during flower much at all though. Hope this helps.

This helps. Thank you for taking your time. That's some insight I didn't have b4. I expected issues. Next grow will LIKELY go much smoother.. It's out of the tent and going into quarantine. I'm going to squeeze as much maturity out of it as possible... Thanks again

Oh ya. With this hobby, experience is the best teacher. It gets easier the more you grow. But I'm always willing to help out if I can, so feel free to hit me up if you have any questions. I can't guarantee I'll have an answer every time, but someone on here will. I've only been growing hard core for a little over a year and a half, so I'm still learning too.

On the up side the relative humidity dropped after removing the plant from my tent :). It is maturing downstairs in a separate room with it's own HPS . No new nanners to this point. We shall see what the net result is-
