What are these bugs?

I have just read other ppls experience and they reckon it killed their plants. Do you use it as directed or need to dilute? Thanks
Error on my part, spinosads not permethrin!!!
I've soaked it.
I would do with permethrin too though if it was for a certain bug. 1 ounce per gallon if not huge infestation

I think we need a clearer picture to really be able to help you out. There is a good chance you don't need to spray anything. We know what that bug isn't. It is not an aphid, it is not a whitefly, it is not a mite, it is not mealybugs, it isn't a thrip.

A question, are you sure there are not aphids elsewhere on the plant? Typically if you have ants on your plants, you have aphids. Ants eat the honeydew that aphids leave behind (the stuff that causes that black sooty mold on trees is the honeydew from aphids as well). If its a fungus gnat, on an outdoor plant larger than a seedling, ignore it. They won't hurt your plant, more of an annoyance than anything. You can put diatamaceous(*sp) earth down under your plants and the fungus gnats will disappear (at least until the next rain)

Hey mate so here’s a bit more info. I have leaves with shiny trails on them and eaten leaves. Some leaves are eaten around the edges and some with holes in them. I’m not sure if the bug in the photo is doing anything but there is definitely something going on. I am 4 weeks into flower. I’m thinking I spray spinosad on the leaves like suggested, as I don’t want the problem to get worse. What do you think? Thanks

Thrips do not leave holes in the leaves, considering they are sucking insects not chewing (they suck material out of the leaf cells vs eating the leaf cells). Trails + holes sounds like snail/slug/caterpillars vs thrips or other sucking insects (aphids, mites). Just my opinion, but I would look harder for signs of larger insects . If you find them, it will be much easier to make a decision. The fact that you have holes in the leaves, both edges and within the leaves, makes me think of chewing pests like caterpillars, slugs, snails, etc. (spinosad will work on slugs/snails as well)

Possibly and would he not want bt for those as opposed to spinosad?

Easiest way to keep bugs at bay that I have found and learnt from a “tomato” farmer is to put a layer is washed river on top of your grow medium; like a mulch layer about an inch think. It’s free draining and the insects can’t incubate one the sand; works a treat have not an infestation since. Good luck all

delomite?
There is dolomite lime that is used to raise the PH of a soil and will not impact bugs.
There is (DE) diatomaceous earth that is used on the surface of a soil for gnats.
