DIY with Quantum Boards

HLG-320H-C2800A driver for 4 HLG quantum boards 132v2...in series

will this work and how do I fine tune it ?
Not for 4 QB 132 V2. That driver doesn't have enough forward voltage. You could fit 3 boards voltage wise, but you would have to limit your current output to 2100 mA(QB 132 V2 maximum current). So your maximum safe wattage would be about 225 watts.

I just checked the voltage and with all 4 boards running I get 136 or so volts across the negative/positive of the output.

The HLG-320H-C2100(A,B, or AB) is a good fit for 4 QB132 V2 wired in series. You just want to limit the fixture to about 300 watts.
I have a HLG -320H-C2100A but that was for 4 120v2 quantum boards I was going to build up......

what the hell am I going to do with my two Hlg-320h-c2800a’s ?
What boards are a good match for those ?

Should I turn down the output to 118 volts, the max output listed on the driver ?
First of All, I would check the Reports section on the Mean well website for actual voltage output( real life conditions can vary significantly from specifications) of your specific driver model.

If you are getting 144 volts(specifications say 114 max forward voltage)for a max voltage output, that Will power 4 boards and give you your 300 watts. Like I said just limit your current to about 2100mA.

You can use the HLG-320H-C2800A for four QB 120 V2 wired in series. Those boards max current is 2800mA so it's a better fit than your other driver, it will give you more wattage potential. Just want to limit your max wattage to 280 watts or so.

White beard thanks for your help. Let me list what I have.
8 quantum boards 132 v2’s. 36v @ 2000ma
4 quantum board 120 v2’s. 24v @ 2800ma

2- HLG-320H- C2800a
2- HLG-320H- C2100a

That’s what I have. Help me out, I’ll buy whatever to complete this project.

So how about three 132v2 boards in series with a HLG-320H-C2800A ?
3 boards at 36v would run 108v. The driver is good for 114v in Constant current mode. Then I could dial down the current to 2100ma.
That would run about 76 watts

The 120v2 boards are 24v and 2800ma

4 boards are 24v each and 2800ma each. That’s 96 total volts.
HLG-320H-C2800A is good for 114v at 2800ma. In series.
24v x 2.8 amps = 67 watts.

I would still have two 132v2 boards to do something with......

Am I on the correct path here ?

XLG-150-H-AB
Is this a suitable option for a single V1 board and slate heatsink or should I just get the HLG-120H-54AB
Just using it to flower a single pollinated plant in a 2x3

Yes, all that is feasible.

I would power the 8 QB 132 with the 2 HLG-320H-C2100A and use the HLG-320H-C2800A for the 4 QB 120 like you have planned.
That is the easiest way to make use of all the boards you currently have. I'm sure you can find a way to make use of your remaining driver.

Yes the XLG-150-H-AB will work well with one QB 288 V1 and will save you a little money over the HLG. I saw a couple sellers show that XLG having an internal potentiometer And external dimming leads, but according to the datasheet, this model only has leads for an external current dimmer, so you'll just need to solder or otherwise connect one.

A versions have dials on them B version use an external 10v pwm dimmer, and ab versions have both options.

Thats what I’m going to do then.
You ever do any tests on spacing the boards out ?

Awesome man, good luck!

I don't own any QB 120 V2, but I do have 8 of the QB 132 V2. Each board powered at 65-70 watts will cover about four square feet in veg and two square feet or just under in flower. Are you growing in tents or an open room?

Figured I would chime in on my “ Antiviral meds “ ....

Running the OG V1 ( 3500k boards ) with COBs Rig on a few vegging plants.....
KKP S1 - these are from the seed run ( Selfing Hazeman KING KONG POISON ) - Durban Poison x GG4 .
Growth has been pretty uniform with these first run seeds. Began some LST on them . Both are running my layered FFOF / EB Stone mix and water only. They are in 1 gallon grow bags . I added EWC to my blend in the topsoil with the Great white myco. So far so good.

GOTHAM LIMITED - ( Trainwreck x 79 Xmas bud )
Same layered mix , minor LST . 3 gallon container grows . Smells like pine.

FLOWERING - QB 96s with Agromax UV / 10000k finisher

The Deputy ( GPS seeds )

Has been partially harvested .... with the most mature tops being chopped and hung. This allowed me to let the mids / lowers to continue to bulk and mature. They are growing well and have to lean them against tent wall since I didn’t add support. I figure a few more days or so. It was last watered 2 days ago and is starting to slow in drinking. This strain has the sweetest smell of any I have grown - light cotton candy ( best way to describe ) , but chunky little shit. Same layered soil as above. I added kelp / MYCOCHUM to watering during flowering of any plants I run .... this in another gallon grow bag . I would be running larger containers but am space strapped - which ironically allowed me to concentrate on my soil blends and results. Water only 6.6-6.8. Been running the UV mix on
these girls intermittently ( 4 x 3 hour point for about 15 min ) .

GSG ( Girl Scout Glue )

This plant is in the smallest container- which I believe is actually less than a gallon. It has worked but think I will not use it again .
Made a bonsai apparently.... LST worked well as tops are pretty damn uniform . I am not concerned on yield as I have more than enough jarred previously.... again only to test longevity of soil mix.

Have one more oddball Sativa running late week flower but she is a bit temperamental on feed .... another GSG that actually
leaned heavier to sativa - spear shaped buds / lanky branches. Weed is weed I guess .... lol.
