Don't hate Bernie. I love him like an uncle of mine. Both would make terrible Presidents. So would I as a matter of fact.

He lost to Clinton. By a whopping large margin.

Then he spent four years alienating the very people who didn't vote for him when he lost to Clinton.

He began this primary with a worse performance than in 2016, when he had a comparatively hot start.

I don't get how you cling to this idea you have that Bernie can do so badly in Democratic Party primaries yet he's a winner with people don't identify as Democrats. Care to explain?

That's not a bad answer. If I press any harder I'd be badgering.

At this point we simply have a different position. Actually, I'd vote for Warren if she were still running. I vote for who I want in the primary and tactically in the general election. I'm not practical when I choose my candidate in the primary.

The thing about opinion polls is they are terrible predictors of elections. If you read how people answer opinion polls you'd think Americans are saints. Home the homeless, everybody gets free healthcare, support the environment, support civil rights, back education. And so forth. When people go to the election polls, people in most states vote for Republicans who oppose most of that. That's why I consider the only polls that matter are election polls. Opinion polls have their uses but not good at telling us how people vote. Most people are conservative if you look at how they vote. That's why I don't think Bernie had a chance if he had won this primary.
