WTF is wrong with this picture??

Every since i switched to my 400watt HPS my plants leaves have been acting funny, the first day a few of them turned them selves over now this :-(

**PH at 6.5
**light 20" away from tops
**Hesi nutes (which i just started the flowering nutes Monday
**2 fans 1 blowing down and 1 blowing across the tops of the plants
**Fresh air during the day by leaving the closet door open
**Temps never over 81-82, mostly around 78-79 and at night 70-73
**DIY co2

ANY IDEAS?? :weed:

thankx for the help, i still cant find my problem anywhere :cry:. I could also be overlooking it, not sure....

Looks like you have your hps very near the tops of your plants and that you have a hot spot on your hps.
You need to raise the hps a little and use a fan to blow the hot air away from the tops and help to keep your hps cool.
Also consider investing in a bulb attachment designed to stop that.
P.S. i did notice that you say its 20" away which is way to far and i have mine 8" away from the tops,but that definitely looks like hot spot burn to me.

could it be a hot spot if the light is 20" away from the tops and if so where can i get one of thise heat shields in the USA :joint:

That's not a hot spot problem. That's a Mg/Mn deficiency or lock. The twisted tips alone is the dead giveaway for that.

From your new pics i can quite clearly see that your blowing the heat down onto your plants.
Your fan is in the wrong place,you need it blowing up and across the tops and over the hood.:joint:

Gotta agree, your fans are not aligned properly.

But that's not a heat spot problem - note the fading edges and half-formed leaves across all plants. That's a deficiency/lock.

Were this a heat problem the first giveaway would be massive drooping as if the plant was over or under watered. The leaves are too perky for that to be the issue.

You need to lower that lamp to be about 12" away from the tops of your plants and place the fan so that it blows across the tops of your plants and over the lamp itself at a slight angle pushing upwards.
I.E. the heat is pushed up and away from your plants.
This moves the heat away from the tops of the plants and stops the hood from getting hot:weed:

i changed the fans once again, in now have them all facing out the closet to move the heat out, they blow across the tops and the lamp itself. hope thats good enough! i didnt lower my light anymore past 20", i will once i get my cool tube this weekend :weed:
