So I've been growing for a few years now and I first started out by adding molasses to my water when my plants are finishing and I noticed they produce alot of trichomes and the smoke seemed sweeter. So I decided one day last year to tap my maple tree outback and make maple syrup the old fashioned way. I harvested about 50 gallons of sap which boiled down to 4 Mason jars of maple syrup... Doesn't really taste like maple it's more of a vanilla bean flavor with alot of sugar. Stupid good. Soo I decided screw it I'll finish my plants with it. So for the last 4 weeks of flower I used 1 tablespoon to 4 gallons of fresh water and Bam they poured out the trichomes hard and even noticed one of my Alaskan purple kush strains had produced a sticky sap that pushed out of each bud spot. Didn't notice the plant stressing at all. No leaves yellowed and the smoke was heavenly smooth and sort of tasted like the maple syrup I had been using. Has anyone ever tried this? Am I just adding this to my plants with no effects and im just seeing normal flowering or am I on to something? Lemme know what you think. I'm growing under a 1000w hps yeild lab bulb in a 8x8x8 grow tent humidity is usually at 35percent all the way thru flower and temp is 75 daylight 62 night time. I also run my lights at 12:15/11:45 day/night. Nutrients line is advanced nutrients at 1/4 strength. Strains include blue cheese, cheese, Mohan ram, Alaskan purple kush, kosher kush, white widow, mango skunk, blueberry, white Rolex and a strain I found in bag seed that hermies but I use reverse and the smokes killer with no seeds or pollen. Which I think is a diesel cross of some sort. I call it night nite.
