The information in this summary is both sobering and hopeful, if only... it does require time to read and digest though.

First, I am 68 years old and have been smoking cannabis for the last 10 years. Smoked cannabis and tobacco and consumed alcohol until I was 35, have not used tobacco or alcohol for 33 years.

If i get Covid-19 virus it would appear I am at high risk for lung problems. Other than the stuff I hack up every day from smoking I am in good health.

Bad information and tunnel-vision are worse for everyone then me catching this and either recovering or not. I want my Grand-Daughters to have a future, open your mind to all the other harm being done outside the virus realm. How much harm before lives are at risk, not from the virus, but from the hysteria (Thank you supreme leader Gavin Newsom).

Now, therapies. I know apparently 80% of patients in china were also treated with traditional chinese medicine. I also know from experience, as an asthmatic, how effective things like licorice root, mullein, coltsfoot, and elephants head can be for opening up airways so there's that. There's also traditional things like zinc and vitamin d, which are good in their own right but are proven antivirals.

That website has been denying science for years. Just saying that anything coming from wattsupwiththat is suspect. This does not mean the JH research is invalid. There is no need to go to an anti-science website for that information.

If you go to the Johns Hopkins site on Coronavirus research, you'll find just two papers listed there on the topic of chloroquinone. One is just a summary report that says "hey this is interesting". The other cites results from a clinical test in China on 100 patients across 10 hospitals to treat people with pneumonia associated with Coronavirus infection. Results were postive. But really, 100 patients? This just says more study is needed. That opinion piece on wattsup is suspect because it ignores the fact that there isn't enough data to draw a conclusion yet.

I only have one question for the CDC, where is the stockpile of KN-95 Face Masks? They had four warning shots of pandemic's, SARS, MEDS, H1N1 and E-Bola. Yet there is no stockpile of these vital supplies at the Center for Disease Control as hospitals are yammering for supplies. The best advice from the CDC is the same advice used in 1918. But that's not much compared with what will be required to combat the coronavirus. "The demand of 300 million would be anticipated in the initial response," Adams tells NPR. "These are estimates, and different experts have, of course, different opinions. But I think the general view is that probably 300 million a month would be a likely scenario for a full-scale pandemic influenza, which is the primary basis for modeling."

That inventory in hand can't meet the expected demand. It can perhaps act as a bridge to the time when an order for 500 million masks is filled.

Any doctor in the US can prescribe chloroquine right now (per FDA commissioner, Dr Stephen Hahn):

Nothing stopping them other than a lack of data about effectiveness, schedule and dosages. What the FDA is offering to do is be a central source for the drug for doctors when they decide to treat patients with the anti malarial drug. The FDA will help them get the drug and gather data from these ad hoc trials.

When I listened to Dr Hahn, I didn't get the sense that he was all that hopeful about chloroquine. What I heard was a professional medical doctor and administrator who was trying to avoid saying anything to piss off the boss (Trump) but wasn't going to lie either. I also heard him say -- in effect -- is that one year is the earliest we could see a vaccine but it will probably be longer than that.
