no, it’s because of the half a trillion dollar slush fund that republicans want to let trump hand out to himself
I hear ya and agree but the dems are doing the same shit. Here are a few examples:

  1. Corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards at companies receiving assistance.
  2. Bailing out all current debt of postal service
  3. Required early voting
  4. Required same day voter registration
  5. 10k bailout for student loans
  6. For companies accepting assistance, 1/3 of board members must be chosen by workers
  7. Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining
  8. Full offset of airline emissions by 2025
  9. Greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
  10. Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
  11. $15 minimum wage at companies receiving assistance
  12. Permanent paid leave at companies receiving assistance

You really should not listen to liars that are trying to trick you into voting for them once again hone they claim what the 'other side' is doing. Because they lie.

It doesn't take a genius negotiator to understand that you put things in your initial offer that you are willing to take out for the sake of "negotiating in good faith", and you don't really expect to be in the final agreement. Trump may have "written" a book called "The Art of The Deal", but his "artwork" is quite preschool.

Exactly what anybody with skills at negotiating would do. Republicans opened with a billionaire-friendly bill, Senate Democrats blocked that while telling them to make some reasonable changes and they'd pass it. Republicans barfed and talked about ending stay in place orders. House of Rep Democrats passed a bill chock full of measures sure to make Republican hair stand on end (if they have any). The ball is in Republican court now.

The money people seem to like what they see.

Dow rebounds more than 11% in best day since 1933 as Congress nears coronavirus stimulus deal

It's not as if resident right wingers who post here are part of the process. The most bitter ones don't even work and so won't get a check. I can understand why they are angry. Not that I care.

I agree with all of that except the final sentence. We need to care even about the people we disagree with. Trust me, there's nothing worse than a desperate, starving, 6th grade educated republican with a gun. Take the desperate and starving out of the equation and it's bad enough, but hey that's Trump's voter base for you.

The bill that will eventually pass will be written by Republican Senators. It's not for me to say. I'm simply savoring the irony that Trump's trailer dwelling mole-men, like two pump, who support him to the end are most likely the ones to get stiffed.
