Granddaddy purple vs. Purple punch

GDP is way better.

GDP terps are legend. PP terps are meh at best, all that strain has is bag appeal.

GDP is a monster yielder.

Both are same level on ease of growth

When I smoked GDP it is pretty dank, but the flavor really hits home.

Purple Punch Has no purple flavor and packs a weak ass punch, probably the most bullshit name you could give a strain that doesn't get you high and tastes like wood.

Gdp across the board. Gods gift is a cross that is more like pp as it’s gdp x og bx og butnos way more potent and has better terpz than pp. pp is a commercial strain. People like it because it looks and smells good and has the hype. It’s a pretty plant, I have it around, but I don’t smoke it. It’s weak shit.

So I take it the punch is just hyped all to hell, all sizzle and no steak.

With all the press it receives, and amount of breeders throwing every type of pollen at it to make crosses with it, you'd think it was the best strain out there.

Thanks for the replies.

How does a cut become so popular when its meh? People are a trip. I've never ran nor smoked p punch buds but if a cut dont get me off I toss it, flavor or not.

Kinda like a smoking hot girlfriend who doesn't like to have sex.

I have smoked the granddad and I can see why that cut is still around. Just puzzled by purple punch's longevity as an elite cut.

I grew the Supernova cut and if your a seasoned smoker it’s just not strong enough. I personally like the terps. It smells like straight like blue Powerade crunch berry type terps but I could smoke on it all day and night. Pretty plant nice yield it just lacks potency. Real deal GDP crushes it

Great question, I look at Symbiotics other offerings and to me there haven't been any "Heavy Hitters" I've come across except for Wedding Crasher but that's mostly cuz of the cake I feel.

But I think it's one of those strains that's just a crazy parent who throws off random pollen that mixes well with almost any cross. Durban Poison is another that comes to mind, not overly potent on it's own but adds lots of potential to the gene pool.

Ya purple punch was an awesome looking plant but definitely weak potency. Gdp reigned king for years in early to mid 2000s for a reason, shit was dank. I always loved the smell of the real deal gdp.
Black cherry punch, black cherry pie, cherry kush, blackberry kush are all alot better than purple punch.

I grown out some dungeon vault strains and they're shit is legit. Definitely can see the gdp in they're lineage, though their strains are even better than gdp. Loved me some brandywine.
