HLG is to Mars Hydro as Corvette is to Camaro
LOL, I know what a Yugo is...a kid I grew up with had one in the mid 90s. I did change my analogy after that comment, though, and compared it more to a Chevette. Mars isn't made in the same factory as HLG and neither are the knockoffs sold on Alibaba. HLG has confirmed that in their posts here. This has not been proven to my satisfaction, though apparently both are made in the same lighting factory. Mars is far from a camaro or a corvette, more like a Yugo (look it up) and any quality vehicle
Just got the email that it shipped. Thinking it will be here tomorrow at the latest. I'm so excited! The difference you are about to see will be very exciting .

Awesome! All stuff I will check out, thanks.A lot of money on a light but you should be able to run it for 10 years and get that money back on the first year , be careful not to look at it!!
If you wanted to add more stuff in there look into 730nm far red lighting and how to use the Emerson effect as well as end of day treatments.
You can also add UV A And B

Are you claiming that HLG said they are the same as Mars Hydro? You definitely misunderstood them. HLG used to have their lights manufactured in China and Spider/Mars Hydro stole their design. They talk about it HEREHLG stated they are the same company in another thread. I called him out on it. Be great if he retracted his statement and apologized to me

All I know is what they explained in the link I posted. Even if they still have some components assembled in China, that doesn't mean those components have the same test specs that have to be met to be approved for sale. I work in electronics and I see this happen to a lot of companies. Chinese companies will steal and sell their design for next to nothing, but the electronics aren't held to the same standards, and/or they sell the rejects and claim they are "top bin".Believe me, I did not misunderstand him. We had several exchanges wherein I said while they are likly made in the same factory who makes all kinds of panels for customers, that does not mean they' re the same company

I have no idea what you are talking about. Are you sure you aren't confusing the fact that they all use the same Samsung diodes?SA
If you need proof, scroll through this thread you will see both of our comments
Weird I can only find the 120 watt on the Canadian amazon2 of these would rock a 4x4. The layout of the diodes are unlike any other board. I own them and love em. The spread is so even because of the clusters in the corners.

I never said I wasn't interested in the truth. I posted a link for you to see what I was talking about and you told me to look through this thread to understand what you are talking about. I did, and I found nothing. If you want people to understand what you are talking about then how about actually posting links rather than asking them to figure out some sort of riddle?I did this so you can see where HLG lied and argued with me through several back and forth posts
If you're not interested in the truth, well... just drop it

There's no point in trying to prove someone is wrong if you don't want to put any effort into backing up your own statement. How do you expect anyone to take your claims seriously when you can't even point them to references?I think that's where the back and forth exchange is, but it could be in another SF thread. I don't feel the need to prove it to you beyond providing direction
