im using a miracle grow type of plant food in water, seems to be working famtastic, spraying the plant every couple of days and giving the soil a blast of it once or twice a week, seems ok so fat, but when i start flowering tonight, do i still need to feed on a regular basis? is spraying the leaves etc still ok when it's flowering?

cheers

you can still foliar feed with regular tap water, when you see the hairs turning red then feed it one more time, then water for the rest

Miracle gro has an all purpose feed and a bloom feed.
The all pupose of course should be used for veg and then the bloom for flowering.

It is ok to keep giving veg nutes thru 1st week of flower then just bloom nutes and water.

I would not spray anything but water on the leaves or the plant itself.
You will not need to do this later on in flowering.
Also make sure the lights are not on when you spray.

You may want to check into molasses if you are growing in soil.

Happy growing

Why's that?

There's nothing wrong with foliar feeding as long as it's done at lights off and not after about the second week in flowering.

There's plenty of benefits to be had from a light misting of plant leaves with correclty diluted foliar feeds such as epsom salts to cure Mg deficiencies, Seaweed extract for providing trace elements, hormones and amino acids and stress relief when potting on and other Seaweed based foliar sprays like Biobizz's Fishmix.

Foliar feeding is absorbed by the plant much faster than root feeding and the nutrients are immediately available to the plant without having to be chelated by the soil 'micro-herd'. That's why foliar feeding is a very useful way of getting essential plant nutrients into the plant quickly and results show quicker than root feeding.

so after the first week of floweing, there is no need for any plant food, just use water??
No.

You don't foliar feed them after about 2 weeks of flowering due to the risk of bud mould and rot in the buds - that's the only reason. You can continue root feeding them right up to harvest if using organic nutrients, but stop about 2 weeks from harvest if using chemical nutrients which I beleive Miracle Grow is.

Also, you don't just 'feed' them when you feel like it. Feed them when they're showing you they need feeding, usually by showing yellow leaves or a lack of shine and lustre to the leaves etc.

And don't overfeed them either! That's one of the worst things you can do

I strongly recommend you look through the GrowFAQ and read up on nutrient bloom feeding in flowering.
