I see soo many ppl advocating hlg quantum boards and I'm wondering why they are being chosen over sf quantum boards. They use the same driver and leds plus have uv better spectrum water proof and cheaper....can anyone explain this

Binning is often put forward as a reason to go HLG. Many here will claim that there's no difference - or that any difference is too small to matter - but for those who want to be 100% certain they're getting top bin, you can't beat HLG. As for SF's added UV - we'll have to wait and see how long those diodes actually last. (Do we know what UV diodes they're using?)

Personally, I like dealing with a US-based company.

Hlg is made in China, the company from the US just puts its name on it but its still made in China like the rest

Spider Farmer boards do not have UVA diodes.
From SF-4000 website:

Each SF-4000 lamp uses 4 high-efficiency white light boards with a total of:

  • 1152 Samsung LM301B LED chips
  • 56 Deep Red LED chips
  • 4 IR chips
Do you see any UV diodes there? Also Spider Farmer has not ever stated to my knowledge what type of LEDs they use for their mono-colored diodes.

UV diodes on SF, HLG=made in China lights, which lie will you type next?

Oh, so they don't have UV after all. Just as well, I suppose, as I would expect that - in keeping with other, similar cheap boards - the supplemental diodes they add probably aren't of the highest quality. (But someone can correct me there if I'm wrong about that.)

Dude you asked 2 weeks ago if your seedlings need light yet but now you seem to be a LED tech expert?

Any list, I've looked everywhere, they have California lights etc but not hlg.....if someone can show me they are made hear I will accept it but I cannot find anything stating they are American made only the contrary
There is no list. I am not aware of any industry-recognized certification for US-made LED grow lights.
