Humidity too low. Battling PM

My two cents...
35% is a little low but fine, many would kill for that.
H2O2 29%, mixed in water 25 mls per Litre, a little wetting agent helps. Spray the shit out of your plants every three days, shake them off. Does very slight damage to fan leaves but that's it, gets rid of PM. You have to eradicate it, don't start thinking you can control it.
Yes. That was part of my regimen. It's fine if I spray something every couple days, but that becomes a pain and as soon as I get lax.... Guess who's back!?
If I had to do that every grow, I likely wouldn't grow at all. I want to try to find the root cause and cut it out. I just harvested so everything is gone. Now is a great time to clean and prep for future grows, but I need to get everything dialed in. It messed with my last three grows.

Battling PM really took the fun out of growing.

I feel your pain....I had pm my last 2 grows, and thanks to the advice of a few members here, I now have a simple IPM (intensive pest managment) program that probably costs about $10 a week...No PM this grow and my plants are better than ever at 6 weeks. I just flipped to flower last Friday!

I am using Marrone Regalia & Venerate and GH Armor Si for it's silica...Just those 3 products, all are certified organic, and I have plants in super soil and aeroponically, all thriving, and pm free (KNOCK on wood) . 8-)

I did the same as you....Got rid of everything, cleaned everything, ran the piss out of my ozone machine...and the pm came back, but with the IPM program, nada, zilch, no signs of anything except huge healthy plants. Best move I made in 20 years of growing!! I can not recommend it enough!

Nice. Yes, IPM is super important. I know that now. I haven't heard of any of those products (silica, I have), but I'm also shifting to organic growing and don't want to add liquid nutes so thanks!

All it takes is the sulfur vaporizer. Yeah not for flowering but you can clean a room and a veg cycle and get back on track using a sulfur vaporizer.

If you run a sulfur vaporizer with plants, wait until at least 30 minutes after lights out to run it. This way the plants stomata have had time to close.

It can be a really good way to completely and forever get rid of PM. One buddy had it bad a few years ago, it kept coming back on him. I told him and he vaped his rooms and it didn't come back. Still to this day he vapes his rooms when empty once a year as insurance.

Thanks.
This will be added to my regimen!

Put a inkbird on your fan. It will control the temperature, so it's not constantly sucking your humidity out
So, I've looked into the inkbird controllers a bit and need a bit more clarification. If I got the temperature and humidity control, for example, what equipment would I hook up to what?

With summer coming, I'll likely need a dehumidifier so I could hook that up to the humidity control, but then the exhaust fan to temperature? That means that when lights are off, exhaust would shut off, if humidity climbed, dehumidifier would come on and if temps rose, exhaust would pop back on? However...if temps don't get high enough, then exhaust won't come on and there will be no air exchange.

For winter...I would hook up a humidifier to the humidity control then. But, if humidity is low and my temp is high, the exhaust fan will still be sucking humid air out. If temp is low, then there is still the air exchange issue.

I'm using active air exchange right now. Would I be better off to just open all the bottom vents and let the tent use passive air flow?

The tent is a 5x10 with 2x 1000 watt air-cooled hoods.

Thanks again for the help!

That's exactly how I run in the winter.

Passive air flow with vents open or active with intake fan also hooked up?

Sorry for all the questions it just seems strange that everyone talks about needing x number of cfm fan for air exchange and then I can just have it off for long periods of time.

Thanks for your help!

Ambient temperatures have a lot to do with it, as well as your light/heat source.

For one thing IPM stands for Integrated Pest Management.

Also where did you get the idea that GH Armor Si is organic?

Not trying to be a dick, but I hate seeing people spreading misinformation.

I don't run an intake fan. Each room has a exhaust fan on an inkbird temperature control. My fans run every 15-20 minutes for a couple of minutes. Plenty of fresh air.

Integrated, Intensive....I knew it was in-something. This truly is new to me, and I probably wouldn't be doing it if I hadn't gotten PM....twice! All I know is, it's working awesome so far.

And you are 100% right on the GH Armor Si not being organic. I should have known better....The shit is like acid.

I actually appreciate you pointing that out, as i would like to try and stay as organic as possible on my soil plants, and I don't want to spread mis- information either. The other 2 products are organic though...and I'll keep using the Armor Si for now...It does grow some huge strong plants.

Didn't really want to stink the house up with a toxic gas...and i have it under control now with the Regalia.
Yeah but you are controlling it, meaning it's not ever really gone. but hey, it's up to you. Running a vaporizer for a few hours while you step outside isn't bad for you.

Isn't that what burning sulfur does?

I hope that's not the case with Regalia, at least in my current situation. I got rid of everything associated with my old grow, cleaned like crazy, disinfected the entire area with ozone, and started from scratch with new seeds and new soil, as well as a small new aero set-up.

Like I said, this IPM is new to me, but from what I understand the Regalia (and Armor Si) is essentially making the plants immune system stronger so it can defend itself from powdery mildew, and so far, it's working...I'm in week 2 of flower with my new girls and no signs of any pm, and the Venerate is supposed to do the same with a variety of bugs.

Cost is low, plants are super healthy and huge. I really don't know how it works, only that it does work. The sulfur seems like more of another band aid, and from what I read, too many things can go wrong with it if you're not careful...Like death. I've breathed enough toxic shit for one lifetime.

You can vape a contaminated room and then grow in it. It is the only way to really get rid of PM.

I have dealt with and ppl I know have dealt with PM and it just keeps coming back. Spray every other day with stuff, the minute you relax it's back. Sulfur vape a few times and its gone.

With plants in the room, wait until 30 minutes after lights out so the stomata close, turn off all fans (you want the sulfur to settle) vape for 4 hours.

I knew a dude that fought PM for 3 runs and it never gave him a break. A few vapes and it was gone. He now vapes his rooms a couple times a year when empty just to make sure they are good to go.

When I first moved into this house (it was a grow before) I had PM problems. Vaped it out and no more problems.

It is the only true permanent fix I have found.
