I've seen a buddy of mine do this.

He set his up with the sugar/water/yeast in a 5gal bucket, with tubing into a secondary 5 gallon bucket.

The 2nd 5 gal bucket is filled with a bit of water, forcing the co2 through it to eliminate the "bread" smell.

From there, a tube goes out, and is connected to a purge vent or w.e they're called (used on the top of home brew setups to purge CO2 during fermentation) that is hung near the top of the plant.

Not sure how he regulates the quantity of CO2 tho... likely just let's it run constantly, and has exhaust set to turn off every few hours or something

The second bucket is an airlock. It prevents bad bacteria from taking over and smelling like shit.

It's a solid recommendation. An HLG would far exceed the output of your Mars, and drastically increase yields.

More light, in the proper spectrum would likely get you better yield than the CO2 would. And co2 can be counter productive if not properly regulated.

BUT, if your like most people (especially right now with the unemployment rates) and cant afford a 300$+ light, do what you gotta do. The homemade co2 setup CAN be done. How effective it will be is dependent upon user input

5 grams per watt with an shite amazon light off an og kush.... Forget about co2, you obviously have it dialed in.
Where do you get 5grams per watt? the light is 50w and the og kush was 29.2grams dry so more like half a gram a watt?

Up to now at home ive just used the exhale bags but there just rising in price so just wanted a cheap alternative, the other place we have going has a co2 tank but thats just overkill for at home for 2 plants

I got busy yesterday. You can always brew beer. That is essentially what you are doing. But you can also focus on what you need.....co2 isn't that.

Can any of tell me about diy generators?

Yeah sure. I’m a U.K. grower too.

That light won’t cut the mustard if you’re expecting anything more than 2oz.

When your 2 plants get bigger they also produce humidity as they respire.

Then you’re humidity will be spiking.

Plants that small aren’t going to benefit from elevated levels of Co2 right now.

When they’re 3-4 weeks old and your worried about your humidity creeping up come back!!

Okay, I think everybody forgot to tell you a big reason to drop the CO2. CO2 works to give a good improvement IF everything else is peaked out. Your nutes have to be spot on, your RH & temp need to be in a tight VPD band, and you need to be giving it more light than it can handle without CO2. Increased CO2 & weak lights will see no change. That's why Renfro said to get a better light first.

You are asking how to setup race fuel in a Honda Accord, we are suggesting you start with some nice tires & race driving lessons. Look at a strip LED or HLG board.

Hey dudes,
Has anyone got any 'How to' guides for c02 generators, have been running co2 bags but think the generator would cut the cost in half atleast, Seen a couple videos about it but they dont really explain. I know i need some 1/4 inch plastic tubing and activated yeast just dont have a clue about the measurements(ppm and yeast/sugar ratio etc)
Thanks in advance guys bongsmilie
3/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon pf yeast and 6 cups of hot water
